Trader Joe's virgin
When I first started going to Trader Joe's I really liked their chili lime turkey burgers and turkey meatballs. Over time I realized neither sits well when I eat them so I gave up on them. I do like those cooked/frozen grilled chicken. Very convenient.
Other thing I loved getting from there was the lemon squares, it's a dessert but pre. It pre-cut and frozen- which forced discipline cause you need them to thaw to eat them.
Most everything else I got from traders Joe's were frozen foods for my family- too carb heavy for me to consider eating.

Are you only 2 months out(not even)? I think that it's too soon to be going to Trader Joes for stuff for you. Concentrate on lean protein, with little sodium. Get to your goal weight before experimenting too much.
I find most of their foods are processed and heavy on the sodium. The frozen shrimp used to be a good deal, but I am finding better near home. The nuts are a good buy, and they have no salt varities. But 2 months is too soon for nuts. They have some meats, but nothing to drive 3 hours back and forth for.
But at 2 months out, I do not understand why you are going to trader joes. Unless you need a source for chicken breasts. or other lean proteins.

They have a nice variety of low fat cheeses. I really like their lunch meat. I find that its convent in the packages. I just scan it into the my plate app, and weigh it. Also the Mr. Chomps meat sticks are a good quick protein source that you can keep in your car and don't need to be refrigerated. I also enjoy the different chicken sausages. Make sure you read the labels for the carbs and sugar.
Have fun and enjoy your journey.
The nearest Trader Joe's is hours away hearing only about their red wine. Two hours away, an Aldi's recently opened with prices so low it made me wonder how big I could have gotten. After scoping things out, stock-up bags of nuts and Sumatra coffee were selected. I had to leave because the store's temperature made my nose run and have fingers so cold I considered forfeiting the 25 cents for a returned shopping cart. When Swedish blood kicked-in, I forged through the thought and retrieved the quarter. May you save many quarters at Trader Joe's, too.
Go and check it. Read the labels. I personally would not worry about the sodium in prep foods. So early post op we can't eat a lot and the small portion can provide just enough sodium that is lacking from other food like protein shakes or yogurt. We do need sodium and so many of us try to limit it while experiencing low BP or Orthostatic hypotension as we are losing weight.
The nice things about some frozen foods - like meatballs - is that you can take out just 1 or 2, add a pat of tomato sauce or shredded cheese and have a whole meal. Monotony of our simple small meals post op may lead to "cheating". Do having veriaty of four in a fridge or freezer can help long term.
Trader Joe in my area is rather small and have very limited stock.
Plus I don't like that a lot of their food has soy protein added. (Read ingredients). I rarely buy anything in there. They have a very nice and cheap wine selection (if you know what to buy-which one is good) but since I don't drink wine anymore - what I buy when we have a party, lasts me a long time.
