Daisy,

I'm so sorry to hear this.  I don't know how old your mother is but my mother had breast cancer as well but because she was diagnosed after having gone through menopause, it wasn't as big of a concern as pre-menopausal breast cancer. I'll hope for the best. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

QOTD: I was able to go down a pants size! Also, yesterday I had to be at the hospital with my MIL for an emergency she had and ended up being there for hours. I always have a protein bar in my purse even though I've never eaten one for fear I'd like it and have a hard time controlling them in my diet. Finally I gave in and ate it and hated every bit and it didn't even really take away the hunger. I was basically hungry all day until we finally left her at the hospital and went for a late dinner. But through it all I made it through and learned that I don't like protein bars... at least that one, and I can be hungry and uncomfortable and I survived.

A few weeks a go, I caved a bought a few protein bars I heard were 'really good'. I never wanted to go there, but I rationalized the emergency protein/food dilemma...Anyway I ended up tasting all of them. I thought they were so gross I spit them out! I'm so glad I did that now, they don't tempt me in the least! I keep beef jerky, moon cheese and nuts in my car now.

I think dealing through a period of time where we are hungry, yet making it through, and realizing it was OK is a HUGE thing to discover!

I don't like moon cheese... or Mr. CheeseO's... or the ones from TJ, either... so don't feel bad about not liking protein bars!

Thank you Norma for your prayers & support!  I heard today through my research that its a good thing my Mon is older and post menopausal, that's in her favour!

Great NSV on your down a pants size!  Yahoo!

Sorry to hear about  your MIL being in the hospital, I hope she is home and resting now!

Oh ya protein bars, there is only one that I like and I rarely eat them because they taste too good, the Power Crunch bars (find them at US Walmarts, NYMom222 on here turned me on to them, they are delish) and I can stomach the Mission One bars (also at Walmart) but I can't stand the Quest bars, like gross to me!  So good for you for making such a good choice in such a hectic stressful day!

mmmmm prosciutto!  I need to get some!

Good luck with the Play, hope your long days/nights ends soon!

Good morning everyone!

Daisy, I'm so sorry to hear the news. I know how hard that is to go through with family. My positive thoughts and vibes are definitely with you. Hang in there, lovely lady.

QOTD: my NSV was yesterday when I went to put on a favorite band tank top that was so tight that I couldn't wear it anymore. Decided to throw it on just to see and it fits! I was so giddy about it that I audibly squealed a little hahahaha

B: protein shake

L: protein shake

D: turkey roll w/pickle and whipped Greek yogurt cream cheese :-D

S:not sure. Trying to avoid snackies.. I've been baaad lately:(

V: the usual multi, calcium, iron, biotin. HAVING TROUBLE- not sure if I've got my vitamin routine down right. Definitely feeling low on iron (bruises everywhere.. looks like I got into a fight with myself).. is there something I'm doing wrong? I take everything I'm supposed to take but maybe I'm not doing it in the right order? It's so confusing to me haha

my motto today is "it's never too late to hit the reset button!" Have a great day, guys!

I started really slacking on my vitamin regimen, and I saw people posting here that they were using patchMD vitamin patches, and having great labs.  So I ordered them (autoship, every 30 days, got 40% off) and I haven't missed a day!  After my shower, I have them by my lotion and deodorant, so I just plop on a multi, an iron, and a B3/calcium.  I am so happy to be back on my game.  It's not cheap, but I figure there are 3 benefits:

  1. I actually have my daily vitamins that I need
  2. I don't have the calories from the chalky chewables
  3. I don't gag from swallowing horse pills

Overall, I can't wait to have my labs checked to make sure I am doing well.  Low iron will lead to severe exhaustion, I have heard - even our own Daisy has to get iron infusions.

I'm another one that loves the Patches... I take the same three, and I put them on after my shower... often times I forget and don't get them off until the next morning...

My labs were great almost 3 months ago (having been on them for 3 months)... I'm hoping in a few weeks they'll be great again!

That's 40% off really makes it doable financially too!

I do the same with the patch. Take it off before I get in shower, put some alcohol on it (was having sticking issues) put it on after the shower.
