Great pictures!! Bill's son lives in Providence and loves it. He went to grad school there and stayed after graduation.

I live in Houston and will be so glad when everyone goes home!! Seriously, traffic is a nightmare. Tomorrow my daughter has all her pre-op appointments in the med center and I am hoping we can get there in a timely manner. I am trying to decide how early we need to leave the house

Eating is blah. I just realized I get points at Walgreens for logging my weight so I am hoping that will get me motivated to lose a few. I already get points for my steps. If you shop at Walgreens, check it out. I already earned $10 that I will use towards vitamins.

re: Instant Pot:  you might want to invest in a few extra silicone rings (that go around the perimeter on the underside of the lid).  After making a few briskets (or whatever), your ring is going to start smelling like them!  Not cool when you're making yogurt or something sweet.   So I have one for yogurt and one for savory things.  In fact, I bought like six of them because you're supposed to replace them every couple of years *anyway*, so I figured I'd buy a handful now and save on shipping.  I think they were like $7 each - so pretty cheap.   Some people buy an extra stainless steel pot as well (one for sweet, one of savory), but mine doesn't smell - it's just the silicone rings that seem to absorb savory smells after awhile.

Thanks for the tip. My Amazon cart is bursting at the seams with the add ons. I stupidly forgot the step about straining the yogurt, so it will have to wait until the cloth is delivered. I might as well add the rings, too :)

I did get an extra stainless steel pot.  But I discovered I don't need it to separate smells as mine never smell.  We always wash them out well right away so maybe (??).  However, a couple of times it's been handy when I've been making a couple of different things, so I can take one pot out and stick the other one right in.  But unless you can foresee yourself doing a lot of that, I'd probably skip the extra pot.

I also bought a glass lid for it, but if you have a glass lid laying around from a crock pot or something that fits your IP, then that'll work just as well.  I only use my glass lid when I'm sticking the whole stainless steel pot in the fridge - which isn't often.

you should still be able to use your yogurt - it just won't be Greek yogurt - and it may be a bit tangy (unless you like tangy).  The whey is kind of acidic, so the yogurt tastes milder once the whey is drained off.

I have found no need for the extra silicone ring... I wash the lid literally as I take it off the pot...I walk it to the sink and wash. That seems to keep smells from sticking. Taking silicone on and off will eventually make it stretch, and then you will have to keep getting new ones... just my 2 cents.

Good Morning JB and Menu Family!

I think I will be going to the grocery store during the Super Bowl since I'm not a big football fan.  I'm sure it will be dead then and getting groceries will be easy!

QOTD:  My daughter has a box of Starburst strawberry and green apple candy canes left over from Christmas that make me feel sick when I look at them.  If you look closely at the picture, though, you can see that she also has Ritz crackers and Reeses peanut butter cups in the background, both of which are really tempting to me.

B:  1 bacon & spinach egg frittata

L:  lettuce, chicken breast, cheese, cranberries & nuts, low cal dressing

D:  not sure yet, going grocery shopping later today

S:  Light n Fit Greek yogurt

Exercise:  Walking Blossom around the neighborhood

Have a fantastic day everyone!

What is wrong with me that those Starburst look amazing? I am a sucker for Green Apple flavored anything...

Hi everyone! I'm at my son's wrestling match. 3 hours to watch him wrestle for maybe 2 minutes. The things we do for our kids. I lucked out and found great parking and was again savvy enough to bring my own folding chair. Bleachers are full and a lot are sitting in the floor-- I'm nice and comfy! I am getting hater looks though ;-)

After this I will head home and get my gym stuff- I'd like to try swimming today. No other plans- laundry is almost done too. I look forward to relaxing! Hubby decided on Homemade hoagies for the game- which will pair nicely with the chicken soup I made last night.

Qotd: grossest thing I've seen was actually last holiday season-- it was red velvet flavored milk/egg nog. The idea of that just makes me want to gag.

192.5 today, 21 months out

Happy Sunday!!
