Yogurt sugars?

I have a quick nutritional question for those of you with more experience.

I am pre-op and already lactose intolerant so I am trying to learn more about low/no sugar milk alternatives. I already use a non-sweetened soy milk so that I'm good with and I just found that Lactaid makes cottage cheese.

I do love soy yogurt, but it all has so much sugar added. Are there soy yogurts out there that aren't high in sugars or has anyone used something like tofu as a replacement?

I'm just trying to figure out how to get in my protein early on without using milk.

Hmmm...thoughts?

I was searching around as I'm interested in alternative yogurts. I didn't see anything, but some of the home recipes looked like it might be worth a try.

Plain Greek Yogurt might not affect you... it doesn't bother me and I am lactose intolerant... the process of making it, straining, etc. helps as I understand it to eliminate most of the lactose. I then just sweeten it with SF Torani syrups or protein powder or whatever... http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2014/07/greek -yogurt-6-protein-packed-breakfast.html

There are 100% Lactose Free Plain Greek Yogurts... Liberte is one brand I know of.

Yes, from what I understand if you ferment the yogurt long enough then the lactose is pretty much eliminated by the process.  I use an instant pot and Fage greek yogurt as a starter.

I use Fairlife Milk which is higher protein(13g per cup) and lower carb (6g sugar) and lactose free...

If you use 100% whey protein Isolate protein powders they are also lactose free. Whey concentrate has some lactose. Most of the premade shakes have lactose because of that.

2 brands I find particularly tasty are Syntrax and Inspire

Syntrax also has non-milky based flavors like Iced tea, lemonade and my favorite Fuzzy navel. It is the only one I have ever tasted that tastes good mixed in water. I over-dilute it and a little extra sweetener and it tastes like orangeade. I have not tried the ice tea or lemonade so I am not dissing them. Not all their proteins are 100% whey isolate so just check. The chocolate I get from them is called chocolate truffle. I also buy cappuccino.

Inspire is sold on Bariatric eating.com

I am lactose intolerant, I can have greek yogurt with no issue. early out I bought Oikos triple zero yogurt.

I have a kroger near me and buy carbmaster yogurt. they are excellent and don't make me ill- sugars on it are SUPER low.

Unfortunately, Lactaid pills don't usually help me enough.
