Good morning, my friends! I am SO ready for the weekend. This afternoon I'm meeting a friend for lunch, so that will feel like an early start to the weekend. I'm considering not coming back to work after the lunch, which is one of the nice things about being in charge - no one to tell me I have to come back - but also one of the hard parts - making myself come back if I need to! Tomorrow the Fella and I are taking his mom out for a birthday lunch. Since his dad has been doing chemo (he's doing really well, btw) they aren't going out into the world as much. His dad isn't going to come, at his own suggestion because a) germs and b) he's super looking forward to a few hours BY HIMSELF, which I totally understand. Sunday I suppose we'll watch that football game.
Some of you know I'm the Executive Director of a large library in suburban Philadelphia and we're in the midst of a renovation and expansion project. We had MANY delays getting the project off the ground, but the contractors officially started in January and I pretty much live and breath this project between the fundraising, management of the construction itself, and hand holding board members. The hardhat is my new look and the photo on the right is the current state of the building - eeek!
Time since surgery: 2 years + 10 months
B: coffee, baked egg and turkey sausage
S: Siggi's
L: completely unknown, so I left a lot of room in my totals for this, but the friend I'm meeting is also a WLSer, so I'm sure it will be a relatively good choice
S: apple and string cheese
D: leftover Spicy Ground Turkey and String Bean Stir Fry (highly recommend this recipe, the Fella and I both loved it!)
S: I tend to need something before bed and wake up in the middle of the night hungry if I don't have a final snack, but not sure what'll be tonight, I feel like I should stop my nightly mini bag of popcorn...
V/W: on track
E: steps, steps, steps
QOTD: I wear I FitBit Alta currently. This is my third Fitbit - I had the Flex, the One, and now the Alta and this is definitely my favorite. I like that it syncs with my phone, which I know isn't the point, but still. I got three extra "fancy" bands so I can coordinate it with my outfit (that's one reason I didn't like the Flex when I had it a few years ago). My job now is SUPER sedentary, so I love that it buzzes me to remind me to move. Some of you might remember DodgerGirl, who used to say she would go into the bathroom at work and run in place sometimes to get her steps up - well I totally do that! When it buzzes, I dash to the bathroom and jog in place to get my steps up!

November can't come fast enough.
Now that only am I carrying around work boots and a hard hat for myself in my car, I'm also driving around with extra hard hats for "guests" on the job site LOL - they didn't teach me any of this stuff in library school.

The hard hat is definitely you!
You've been focusing on that project for a long time now. I'm sure it will be wonderful when it's all finished.

Good morning DD2 and menu fam! Happy Friday!
THis weekend I've got to get the house ready for showings, and then going out with my girlfriend on sunday. i'd like to take a breather from packing a box or designing something on the computer.
Thanks for the motivational quotes, DD2. We all need those!
QOTD: I use my iWatch to track my steps. I strive to do a minimum 8,000 steps a day on it (at least weekdays), and eventually i'd like to do 10,000. I havent been getting enough exercise these last two weeks though. I realy need to step up my game!
