I survived the sleep study (as part of the research study I'm in - they're looking at brain waves and dream patterns). It wasn't as bad as the one I did pre-surgery to test for sleep apnea. The electrodes were mostly on my head and they were all part of this "neuro-cap" they put on me. They also didn't force me to sleep in various positions, like my back (ugh!), since they were only looking at brain waves and not whether or not my throat closed up in certain positions. They woke me up a lot to report my dreams, but then, my husband's snoring and my cats wake me up several times a night, too, so it wasn't really any different.
20 months out today - and down a couple of pounds from last week, oddly. Might be intestinal contents (or lack thereof) - not sure - but I'm not complaining! I almost hate to record it because I wouldn't be surprised if I'm up a pound or two this weekend, through no fault of my own, but I'll do it anyway - I like seeing that lower number in black & white!
QOTD: yep, I have a Fitbit - a Charge 2. I went back & forth about buying one because I'm such a tightwad, but now I feel lost without it. My sister got one for Xmas that evidently doesn't work with her cell phone, and she wasn't able to return it, so I thought about buying it off her for my DH. He says he doesn't want one, but I'll "borrow" it for a few days so he can test it out. I bet he'll love it!! It's a different model - I think the $99 one (forget the model name)
20 months out
B: L&F Greek coconut yogurt, a few berries, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola

L: cottage cheese

have a good day, all!

"What you eat in private, you wear in public." --- Kat
Happy Friday. I have no real weekend plans. My normal saturday (a run followed by circuit training) then getting my hair cut. Sunday is superbowl and I think I'm having dinner with my brother and SIL if the game ends at a decent time. My food plan from yesterday was not incredibly successful. Eating the much smaller portions helped to minimize my symptoms, but I got nowhere near enough food in me. Between drinking and work I didn't have time to eat what I should have. I need to go in and edit MFP for yesterday since I put in my plan, but I'm guessing i was in the 500 cal range, which after I consider my exercise (I burned 728 cal in kickboxing last night) is just not enough for me. I'm going to give it another go today since I felt so much better and hopefully I'll be able to make it work better.
DQOTD: I have a fitbit and I LOVE it. I started with a Fitbit Flex, which I got 2 months after surgery no. 1, which died this past thanksgiving. I actually went to Kohl's thanksgiving night since they had them on sale and I wanted to make sure they didn't sell out. I upgraded to the Fitbit Alta. On the few days over the past 3 years that I've forgotten to put it on, I feel like I'm missing a part of my body.
My plan:
B: .3 oz deli slice ham, 1 egg, 1/2 slice real american cheese (eating super slowly since this goes over my 1-2 oz self-imposed rule)
S: 1oz Roast Beef deli slices
S: Skinny latte
L: 1.3 oz chicken Thigh, .3 oz hummus
S: 1 oz ham
From here my plan falls apart. I have no idea what I'm having for dinner, so I'm leaving my totals off.
Have a GREAT weekend!
My picture is of one of our kitties,,,this is Maggie on our well worn recliner. We have three cats. Maggie is a stray we found during a snow storm almost 14 years ago. She had frostbite on her ear and was very pregnant. We couldn't find her home, and soon after we found her she had her four kittens in my living room. :) So fun! We found good homes for two and kept two, and of course kept momma Maggie. Those two kittens are, obviously, almost 14 years old. We don't really know how old Maggie is of course, but probably not much older, the vet we had at the time that we found her said she was probably not even a year old. So now we have three geriatric cats, lol. Anyway, I'm trying to get decent pictures of these three and it is surprisingly hard to get a good picture of a cat, ha! Maggie here is getting a little rough looking (aren't we all?)...she has allergies, hence that constant eye drainage, and her ear is permanently deformed from that frostbite, but she is otherwise in good health and is such a sweetheart. She spends most of the day hanging around in our loft/master bedroom area (quiet and away from the kids), but she will come downstairs after they are in bed and in the early morning hours before it gets loud and crazy...that 's when I took this picture, early this morning. I'll post one of her "kittens" next Friday.
QOTD- I have never had a fitbit...I have thought about getting one! How do they work if you use an elliptical for exercising, anyone know? Does it count those "steps" accurately?
Breakfast today- I got a bit of a late start this morning since I was up late last night losing my dinner. Still feel a little ooky. Had coffee and then two turkey sticks and a baby bell just to have a quick breakfast and get the day going.
Lunch- Tomato basil tuna salad
Snack- half a pure protein bar and hot tea
Dinner- Tilapia with citrus butter sauce, making a couscous with tomatoes and feta dish for the family, I think I will just have some tomatoes with feta
Snack- 100 cal chobani flip. I do like these a lot! They fewer less calories than the regular flips but still tasty and available in several flavors.
