Good Morning!

I have been terrible about posting, but I have been browsing the posts once in a while. I have missed all of the great menu suggestions and happenings!

I started a new job almost 4 weeks ago and it has wreaked havoc on my (and my family's) routine. I am up at 4:30A to make it work by 7A, and don't get home until 5:15 P. By the time we do dinner, homework, baths, and the bedtime routine for the kids I am exhausted! I was working out in the morning, but with this new schedule I can't. I'm trying to find something that works, but it has been a struggle. I found a cardio drumming class that meets Sunday mornings that I am hoping to try out. I know I need to make it a priority, and I'm hoping as I adjust to the new schedule it all falls into place.

Someone in my family usually hosts a Super Bowl party - this year it's at my Moms. It's low key and fun, and usually pretty good food choices. Being a Lions fan, I have no idea what having your team in the Super Bowl feels like...maybe someday!

I feel like I'm an every emotion eater - pissed, sad, stressed. I am working on it with my therapist, and I'm more more aware and have made progress. Progress, not perfection, is my new mantra!

Hey stranger! How are you?  Good to see you back!  Great profile pic!!! Congrats on the new job!  Its only been a month, give it a bit to get your new routine down. There is always workouts you can do at home with video's or YouTube stuff, a lot of menu posters do that and then you don't even have to leave your house!  Even start at 15 mins in the evening, its a start.

Great mantra, I love that! I might need to copy that from you!

Great menu, I pretty much love everything on it!!! Mmmmmmm on the corned beef & provolone AND bacon & spinach frittata!!

I know it will get better; and really this is the fifirst week I have not been ready to crawl into bed by 7P. I think my body is slowly adjusting to less sleep. Good to be back, thanks for keeping this thread going strong!

I have never been, but what I have seen/heard is you put a yoga ball in a bucket (or a stand if you're fancy :) ) and move around and beat on it with drum sticks. If you google it there are a few good videos, hard to explain for me since I've never been.  I'm hoping it is a good workout and a stress realiver beating on that ball!

I do that class twice a week at my gym. It is SO MUCH FUN! It doesn't seem like exercise. The instructor is amazing and the music is the best.
we put the exercise ball in upside down risers-from the step, get some drum sticks and away you go!  Sometimes you hit the person's ball next to you. Depending on the track.  Everyone just has fun.  It's the most popular class in my gym. If you have a chance. TRY IT!

Welcome back... looking great and great menu... Change in schedules are rough. You will figure out the 'new normal' .... maybe for during the week, a nice short de-stress stretching pilates/yoga routine for after the kids go to bed.... leave the hard corp stuff for the weekend...

Calling for prayers and/or swinging chickens today as we take our boxer Lily down in a few minutes to have a malignant mass removed from her tummy. We should be able to bring her home this afternoon but I'm as nervous as when I've had surgery in the past. Since I'm a stress eater and a boredom eater I hope I can be mindful today and manage another day of no extra bites. I find it amazing that within 3 days of stopping the snack habit my weight was back at 117 where I like it. No walk yet but will at some point even if on the treadrill. Post op 4 years 5 months and here's the food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz grilled trout 1/2 c tomattes D 31/2 oz meatballs with sauce 1/2 c green beans S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar.  Have a great day everyone and there will probably be football on in the house but I don't really watch it.
