What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Commercials! But what's this about them releasing the commercials early nowadays? We had to actually avoid them! Can't they just leave some things alone?
Hope you get to feeling better!

Funny, I actually like that because we don't get all the good commercials in Canada. I do avoid them until after though.

well, as I mentioned yesterday, I spent eight hours in a research lab (yesterday) doing a battery of tests to gauge my stress level for the research study I'm in. While all this was going on (including two hours in an MRI machine - yikes!), my father had to have emergency surgery. He's a hospice patient and we'd agreed from the start to just have minor things treated, but the surgeon strongly felt the surgery was necessary. My dad's wife is recovering from a stroke, and the two of us have health care power of attorney, so it was all on me. So between test sessions, I was texting back & forth between my siblings and my stepsister and talking to doctors, nurses, and the surgeon. By the time I finished the day, he was out of surgery and actually doing pretty well. Well anyway, perfect day to check my stress level. And we did get behind because I had to be on the phone with the medical staff a couple of times to approve the surgery and answer questions about his allergies, etc before they wheeled him in - so I'll have to go back for about a half hour next week. But all in all, I pulled it off!! I hate to see what my scores were on those tests, though! At least it was the first set - my baseline. Anything from here on out will definitely be an improvement!!
QOTD: I have pretty much zero interest in football, so it'll be a regular Sunday for me. In fact, Super Bowl Sunday is the perfect time to go the grocery store - so that's probably where I'll be!
20 months out (as of tomorrow)
B: homemade plain Greek yogurt with homemade cranberry sauce
S: coffee with half & half, protein/fiber shake
L: I'm having lunch with a friend, but don't know where yet - but something protein-forward
D: DH is working and I have to be at the sleep lab at 6:00 (sleep study is part of my baseline research testing), and I'm not sure I'll be able to eat once I'm at the sleep study, so something easy and REALLY FILLING, like turkey meatballs, perhaps...
have a good day, everyone!

2 hours in an MRI, I would have had a panic attack for sure!! WOW!
So sorry to hear about your Dad. I hope he is recovering and resting well. Yes that is the perfect day to check stress levels, how ironic!
Good luck with the sleep test, I hate them, who can sleep with all those wires and noises and uncomfortable bed!!
yep - in addition to doing some regular scans, they had me doing several somewhat stressful mental tests while being scanned - so I was in there forever!!
this sleep study will be worse than most. In addition to the routine stuff, about half the night they'll be waking me up every hour to record my dreams. I doubt they're interested in content - i'm guessing they're more interested in underlying themes that might indicate I'd dealing with a lot of stress or anxiety - like being chased by an ax murderer or something. I've had to do dream logs every morning for the last week, but this one will be more intense and will involve a lot more of my dreams than the morning self-reporting logs do. Ugh.
