I visit OH almost every day. In real life, I am a quiet person. I read a lot, but seldom post. I have been successful in my weight loss because of OH. My center listed the website as a form of support. It is much better than the montly support meetings from the hospital. My nut wanted us on carbs, our center doesn't expect you to lose all of your weight. It is normal to have bounce-back. BUT, by staying on OH, I have a plan, I have people who have had WLS and have regained weight. These people come back and tell us what the triggers were for them. I see the menus posted. I do look at the time since surgery to see what maintenance looks like. Personallyl, I eat a ton of food. I was worried I would gain a lot of weight. The last support group leader said I was okay as long as I don't gain weight. I was not comfortable with that advice. Coming here, I see that people gain weight after 3 years. So, I need to adjust my eating to be healthier so I will be able to maintain my weight loss. (I regularly eat 2500 calories) It was unacceptable when I got to 146. I am back to 143, and will be in the 130s shortly. It is okay if I look too skinny. I don't want to be fat again.

I agree that OH support is MUCH better than my in-person weight loss center support group. I sometimes feel embarrassed that I am under my goal weight at those meetings. My group is good about talking about stressors and how to deal with them, but very poor about talking about how/what to eat, calories, protein vs carbs, etc. I feel that to have a full set of "tools" we need the surgery, plus the head stuff plus how to eat, with some support and friendship thrown in.
Also we can get it daily on OH (even multiple times a day) vs monthly like my in-person support group!
