What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
on 2/1/17 9:35 am
Good morning! I just recently stopped having yogurt myself. Mostly because I don't care for it anymore but also because of the carbs and wanting to stick to denser protein. Thing is, I can only eat a few bites of dense protein and that is it, so I'm still supplementing with protein powder where I can (newbie problems!).
QOTD - I come here for accountability. I am reminded daily of what works and what not to do! I get great ideas here and learn from each and every one of you -from vet's and newbies alike. I see what I can do better and I'm working to be as successful as I can before my honeymoon is over. There is always room for improvement. Plus, you guys are pretty cool :)

Words of wisdom, thank you for the advice?
QOTD. What keeps me coming back here is people like you who have good hard core advice. I love reading everyone's struggles, accomplishments, and whatever else they share. I don't feel so alone in my journey. I'm not always good at posting my menu or weighing my food. I'm a work in progress.
Good morning DD2 and crew!
QOTD: I keep coming back because I believe you guys about accountability. I try to post daily.
a...which leads me to MY yesterday... totally off the rails food-wise. My wife had to be flown to the mainland with heart trouble. In a panic, I threw a bunch of stuff in a bag to take. Turkey jerky, greek yogurt, protein shake, salad, babybel cheese, moon cheese, protein bar. I forgo****er. When things finally settled down at the hospital, I looked in my bag... turned out I had plenty of GOOD choices for things to eat. I ended up going over by about 200 calories at the end of the day but being that it was my first big crisis since surgery I was pretty happy.
Daisy I get it about being a robot. I had a half piece of toast on Sunday. No justification. No argument. I suck it up almost always and eat my protein. But every now and then I lose the battle. I do not know how to change that. Luckily I am down a good bit of weight and I do know a different way to eat, and that is becoming a habit for me.
B: Premier Protein shake, Fairlife with coffee
Rest of day: doing the same thing, taking yogurt, turkey jerky, protein shake with me to hospital. And water.
Have a great day everyone!
Is your wife doing OK? Are you back home, or still with her? I hope she's going to be OK!

She is still in the hospital... they are giving her meds to try to convert her heart back to a normal rhythm. Waiting to see if it works. I have my food, though. I hate hospitals so much.
I hope they can get her back in normal rhythm soon. My thoughts are with you.
