What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Hi DD, Yes...Menu fatigue is exactly what it is! My dense protein does fill me up but even just just one fork full make me very happy! LOL! It's the little things, right? It's one of most healthy veggies to eat and with amount I desire there are 0 carbs. On top of that I will get the healthy fats from the EVOO. Even eating it once every other day with a meal would make me happy.
I do have my yogurt at night and at first it did keep me very satisfied but now not so much and so as not to consume more calories I find myself eating more SF ice-pops. I will definitely do the more dense protein like the low sodium ham.
My #2's have been very productive but am going everyday. The more dense protein I eat the tougher it is. I really really don't want to do a laxative but I might have to. Even if I eat a fattier piece of meat like the rib eye or spiral ham. You are right the CAMAW does work reallllllly good.
Thank you so much for all of your advice and support! You Rock!!!!

Struggling with the question "to weigh or not to weigh" have been stalled for too long but I'm still sticking to it so at least I can feel like I'm still strong enough haha.
QOTD: what keeps me coming back is guidance and community. Only being two months out with very little guidance from my provider has been super tough but everyone here "gets it" and has been so amazing and helpful. When I have bad days I come back to some of the posts and reread them if I need to. Don't know what I'd do without you all. I love the idea of us all being in this together and being able to motivate and support one another even if we're miles and miles apart.
B: premier protein shake
L: premier protein shake
D: leftover chicken salad (shredded chicken with a TINY bit of veganaise, celery, finely chopped almonds and just a itty bitty bit of red grape)
S: not sure yet. Maybe cottage cheese
V: multi, iron, biotin, calcium
E: I DON'T WANT TO TODAY... but I wil haha. Probably my cardio DVD or long walk with the doggies.
first WLS support group meeting tonight. Wish me luck!
Have an amazing day, guys!
Good morning, menu family! It's sunny and going to be in the mid-60's here today. My day started off kind of hectic....nothing new. First thing this morning, youngest child's teacher texted me and asked if I could bring two boxes of Teddy Grahams for the 100th day of school today. Well, nothing short of normal....for most people....but my kids ride a bus. I do not drop them off. Plus, I don't trust said youngest child with food in his possession....especially sweets. So, youngest and oldest rode the bus, me and little middle took off like a bat outta Hades to the grocery store to get the sweet treats. Treats got to school, as well as little middle, on time, and I was on time to work, but my lunch box is still empty at the house. GRRR. DH brought me a breakfast plate from my fav. small town burrito shop, and I'll be eating on that for the whole day.
QOTD: I joined OH to ask questions when all of my searches kept bringing me back here. I was one of those people who didn't know to use the search function, and I asked the same questions that everyone else has already asked when they were pre-op. Forgive me, vets! When my insurance got approved, I started reading the menu thread trying to get good ideas of what I would be able to eat later on, and I started trying to eat like I was in maintenance. I learned about food funerals, as well, and vowed that I would not partake in anything of the sort. I did well, and I continue to do well with my menus, I think. I would hope that if someone saw that I was doing something wrong, they would surely say something! I need people to tell me if something is not a good idea, that's for sure. I'm new at this "full-time job," and I could still use a little training!
I'm not one of the newbies that eats rice and toast and stuff. I know I've been given a gift. Maybe later on, I might have a bit of rice, or a tortilla, or a half a toast, but for now.....MY EYE IS ON THE PRIZE....and it's only 64 pounds away, y'all.....
MY DAMN SCALE IS ABOUT TO GET REPLACED. Still at 204!
Time since RNY: little over nine weeks
B: egg, over medium, carne guisada (not the best choice, but DH was trying to help me out, so I'm not complaining)
S: P3...still not the best, but I'm working with very little here
L: egg, over medium, carne guisada
S: I have a yogurt or another P3 One or the other, here.
D: Up in the air, but all protein, for sure.

Good morning menu warriors! It is frigid here in Portland, with the East wind blowing. The cold cuts right through you. Brrrrrr! Weather dudes are still threatening us with snow/ice later in the week. I am in denial. The good news is that it should be short lived.
I made the Starbucks sous vide egg white bites last night, and they were delicious. The veggies floated to the top, so they looked different, but tasted the same. I need to experiment to see how I can keep the goodies incorporated.
QOTD: I love this board. I know I would not have had the success I've had without all of your advice and support. One consistent pattern I see with people that have had significant regain is that they stopped coming to OH. I think the support is vital to long term success. I may not always have time to post, but I come here every day. It is critical to me. Plus I love you guys.

I think you guys might have gotten more snow this season than we have!
This is one crazy winter, and we do not have the infrastructure to handle it. It is insane. The wind is blowing like crazy right now, but it does feel all cozy inside with a fire roaring in the fireplace, and my warm jammies. It's the little things...t

So did you use little mason jars for your eggs? I've read that some people just use them, but I was curious how you did yours...
Oh, it's so hard NOT to push the Place Order button on my Amazon account.... that sous vide is sitting in my cart taunting me! (My plan is to get it when the house I have under contract closes... 2 more weeks!)
