What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
I know when I've eaten too much..even like today at lunch, those 2 extra green beans... Why oh why do I need to be a member of the clean plate club?
You are early out and still figuring it out...sounds like you are doing well... except I am going to say- Where's the protein at breakfast?

Pre surgery I was really good about having a shake at breakfast but now I don't feel like putting much in my stomach in the morning. No specific reason I guess I'm just not interested in eating first thing and I got in a routine of eating later in the day. I've been spacing my meals out from lunch time on and finishing off the day with a protein drink of some kind. I know that the evenings have always been a time for my brain to telepathically scan the contents of the kitchen so I felt like it helped when I pushed what little food I was eating back in the day a bit. Open to suggestions though, that's just the routine I fell into.

I UNDERSTAND!!!!!
Only at 4+ months out have I gotten some sensation in my pouch. And it's touch and go. I weigh and measure everything I put into my mouth. I know what getting stuck and the foamies are all about, it was a daily event with the bad lap-band for 5 years.
Since having RNY I have not gotten stuck, not had a food aversion, tolerated all solid protein and never really felt anything, let alone full. Once the surgical swelling was gone I felt real hunger. I am able to eat 4 oz of dense protein at a time, having 3 meals a day. Sometimes I break it up into 4-5 smaller meals(total 12oz solid protein/day) I do now sense food being in my pouch that takes the hunger away, but wouldn't call it restriction.
I am also NOT complaining. This is just the way it is for some of us...
Oh and BTW, I had an incident with cashews as well, no longer allowed in the house!

Thank you Pat!
I guess that's what it comes down to, I've never really felt much of anything. I'm thankful that I've avoided a lot of those issues but it made me overthink things.
My BF took care of the remainder of the cashews for me but then told me that he didn't fell great after them either. Crap. I was disappointed that they didn't agree with me but somewhat thankful that I wouldn't be tempted by them after that reaction. Now he's placed that seed of doubt. I'm going to try to go back to thinking I'll react badly to limit the temptation. I already told him I don't want them in the house anymore.

Hi everyone,
I'm still not happy my damn scale today and up 1 lb again!!!! Grim, I sure hope you are right about the water retention thing and the body releasing it! I haven't urinated as frequently as usual over the past few days so maybe that's it.
I've actually been increasing my water intake to between 90 & 100 oz everyday and though that might help out but it hasn't as of of yet.
QOTD: I have to come here everyday! It helps keep me accountable and I really enjoy talking with everyone. no matter where you are along your journey there are people who been exactly where you are and either feel or have felt what you are feeling. For example: Right now the scale is not moving for me and in fact has gone up over the past few days. I keep saying to myself what the hell am i doing wrong? How can I change things up? Even if people don't answer you directly all you have to read the posts and you find someone that is dealing with the same issue. Sometimes the answer is to just keep doing what you're doing and it will work out. I also like the honesty and if I am screwing up I will be told about about myself! I also love seeing all of everyone's great menus and recipes. I appreciate everyone on this site!!
DD & Grim, as you know I'm 4 months out and was was wondering how you feel about eating greens such as broccoli rabe? It's very low carb, It's 0 carbs for 2oz cooked and 1 carb for 3oz cooked? Just wanted to pick your brains about the very low carb but healthy green veggies.
