What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Oh Lord have mercy, I would cry and cry and cry. Honestly, Metro Detroit traffic isn't really that bad, and I'm not really going into the city, but to a northern suburb that is kinda like a business hub. I usually can go 70 to 80 mph on most of my commute with good traffic. My total commute is 38 miles each way.

I have 7 different offices.
3 of them are 90 miles each way, but often I can get to them in the same amount of time that it takes me to get to the schools that are only 20 miles away. Kills me.
Marathon runners go faster, over pretty much the exact same distance.

Yep - when I go to Boston once I hit the expressway 20 would be flying (and that's at 6:15 am)!

Good morning menu gang. Quick drive by for me this morning I will read everything tonight. We do have a confirmed case of the flu here and I am praying everyone else in the house stays healthy.
QOTD- I come here to stay accountable. I feel like if I take the time to type everything out I need to do that. My menu usually stays pretty true to what I put down. If I change something it is usually a different type of steak or something simple. I have tried to take all of the vets advice and not eat toast, oatmeal and all that, even though my NUT really pushes carb loaded foods. I feel like thats what got me in the shape I was in before surgery so why would I do that to myself after surgery! That life style probably isn't for everyone but it has worked for me and I am thankful. On the days I am not able to post here I still use MFP religiously.

Good morning. I come to OH to connect on an important topic for me and to get great advice. While my support around me is top notch, they just don't understand. My wife keeps buying giant quantities for me - like 2 pounds of lunch meet. I keep telling her I no longer eat giant sandwiches, etc. She just can't change her thinking, at least while shopping. Then I'll make a salad with a cup to a cup and a half of loose leafy lettuce, but eat it in a small bowl. She'll say - are you really going to eat all that. Funny girl.
Okay, okay - I'll kill the toast on the weekends. CAMAW has changed my daily plan, but still eat a piece of toast at our weekend breakfast outing. I don't make it daily, but I'll cut it out. I did already stop all the non-nutritious carbs. Funny, yesterday at a lunch and learn meeting I brought my chicken and cheese stick. My buddy (the department admin) told me that she ordered a veggie plate on the buffet thinking of me. I thanked her and told her that I'm focused on proteins first, but that I may take some later in the meeting if I'm still hungry (didn't take any). I will miss the Smart Cakes - those are the best 38 calories ever. My wife even eats them as a desert.
B - Fage yogurt with 1tbs PB2, flax, 1/6 cup protein puffs (basically protein powder in a ball, but does have a few carbs - so I'll watch that)
L - Chicken burger, laughing cow cheese, mustard
D - Lunch meat salad with mustard and vinegar dressing
S - Premier protein shake
This a process of constant re-evaluation... good for you for deciding to cut out the toast. It is not like you can never have toast again...you just choose not to for today.
Toast is one of my favorites :(

Good morning,
It's a good morning for me, i got up without any problems and the sun is shining today.
I only had extra sugar free pudding at my lunch but I was in my calorie range.
QOTD I started to come here before my surgery to learn about my surgery and for support. I keep coming back for the support and accountability. To know im not the only one that struggles with food choices.
B egg whites with yellow pepper, ham and cheese omelet and string cheese
L either kielbasa and sauerkraut or hodge podge soup
D chicken and beets
S Greek yogurt, turkey sausage snack sticks and cutie orange
Have a good day
Gonna have to jump down here and post, then come back and finish reading! Dang work...
QOTD: I found 3 different boards when I first started looking into RNY. I was familiar with the concept of online support when I did my big Atkins/Low carb stint, and I loved all the support and knowledge there. The more time I spent on this board, the more I fell in love with the people here! First, There were Low Carb fanatics here - and deep in my heart, I knew that was the best path for me, regardless of surgery - and when I saw that even with surgery, people here lived that life, I got hooked. Then ya'll got tough on a few people (and even me once, or maybe twice), and I loved the tough love, not putting up with stupid, and speaking your minds... that was it, this girl likes a little pain when she deserves it I knew I would find accountability here.
I love learning here... the recipe ideas, eating plans, exercise options... The statistics and facts some of you share. You're all my encyclopedias of WLS. I feel like it gives me a huge advantage out there in the scary cruel world of cupcakes and cookies.
I haven't been perfect in my journey, and I KNOW that Daisy is right about doing the best during this first year, but I can't function at 100% compliance, and I know that about me. So I set my stats at 90%. Mentally that's a better number for me and I feel like I've done just that over the last 8 months or so. While I am not at goal yet, I feel confident I'll get there. And I think I may even slide just a tad lower than my goal of 145, although, truth be told, I'm really happy with my size right now at times (and then there are other times LOL).
I worked out TWICE yesterday, once at lunch with weights, and then a 9.8 mile bike ride all the way around Lake Hefner! I was so proud of myself! (of course, I also got beef jerky stuck just before that ride, and couldn't eat or drink anything for the rest of the day, damnit.)
The stupid scale though rebelled... not that it's up, but I'm really ready for another bit of a loss... 154.4 this morning.
B: Leftover ham 2.8 ounces
S: I'm really not sure, I forgot to grab a cheesestick, and that beef jerky isn't too appealing at the moment) cashews? I have them in my desk
L: 3 ounces of leftover meatloaf (low carb)
D: We have leftover chicken legs in the fridge, and cabbage in the crisper... I think that will win the prize!
S: Gonna try my Crio Bru tonight since last night I couldn't have it
