I eat 6 "meals" a day.  This is recommended by my program, and helps curb mindless snacking since all 6 meals are planned.

Our centre encourages 5 small meals.  3 Meals and 2 snacks.  They get upset if you are eating too far apart.  Right now I am just not hungry and often don't eat as it makes me feel unwell to eat when I am not hungry.  Just have to watch it if I am going to go do something physical.

Just met with my NUT last week and she told me six small meals a day, which is working quite well.  I feel much more satisfied than I did before.  It's working well for me.

With the successful weight loss that ALL of the above ^ have had, it looks like several small meals is the way to go!!!

Even though they get called 'snacks' there is nothing really different for us between a meal and a snack. I personally think 3 meals will lead to getting used to eating a bigger quantity of food at one sitting... which for us I don't think is good. Eventually once you reach maintenance you will hopefully be eating more food... to me better to spread it out.

Thank you all for your input, I think I will stick with the 4 meals I have been doing and not stress about going down to 3 meals.  I have my one year appt coming up at the end of March and will talk to them about it then.  I just don't want to feel hungry all the time like I do if I don't eat every three hours.

I do the six small meals (3 at regular mealtimes and 3 other times). This has worked best for me in keeping me from feeling hungry and going for "bad" foods.

I'm about 8 months and doc wants me to stick to 3 meals only.   I do 4 and went over this with him. I can't get enough protein in 3 meals. I track everything and all 4 meals are planned.
