Surgery tomorrow morning

Good morning,

I'm up early, getting ready for my flight to Toronto later this morning.  My surgery is tomorrow at 9:30 AM, and I need to be at the hospital at 7:30 to register.

I can't believe it's almost here!  I had to do 21 days of Optifast protein shakes and the time just flew by!  I'm down 23 Ibs since starting Opti, and lost 4.5 inches on my waist.  That is crazy wonderful to me, lol.

I was sick with a cold that triggered my asthma last week but didn't have a fever and my chest was clear so they told me it it likely wouldn't be cancelled.  I'm feeling much better.  Yesterday I was coughing a bit, but it was just a light dry cough, and today it's more like I just feel i need to clear my throat, like a tickle, so hopefully I'll be fine for surgery tomorrow.  My breathing is fine, thank God.

I live in Northern Ontario, Canada, and have to travel 700 km (500 miles) for surgery, so after I'm discharged, I need to stay in Toronto for 5 days, so I won't be home again for another week.  My parents are going to take care of my elderly toy poodle, Benji, and my very talkative African Grey Parrot, Smokey, while I'm gone.  I'm sure they'll be fine but it's always hard for me to leave them.

Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto

1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017

Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017

I'm excited for you to be so close, I really hope that your cough is fine for surgery! I understand the way you miss your pets. I was only inpatient for a day, and still missed my pets. I was only afraid of when the dogs were SOOO excited for me to be home LOL Thankfully they (as I'd expect) know that I'm healing and have been great with me. They make life so much more interesting. :D
