I'm so sorry, it is hard to make that call but when you can tell they are not feeling their best, then it is time. We went through the same with our dachshund Milo about 4 years ago. Couldn't hold bowels, hard to walk- we knew it was time.

Dear Liz,

I am so sorry to hear the latest news about Duchess. What a wonderful picture of her lying beside the fireplace. You should get that picture framed. She looks like such a sweetheart and I know you will miss her a lot. My heart goes out to you and to your son and your family.
