What's on your menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
Morning!
its freezing here! Curled by the fireplace with my coffee. Dog is nesting under a blanket and we're both trying to ignore the outside world.
Partial NSV: you know that sit stand test that was popular a while back? (Here's a link to an image )Well, a year ago, I scored a 5 at the most, I think? Yesterday, I got a 9 every time I tried! I'm confident I can get to a 10 at some point. It's one of the accomplishments I have on my wls list!
qotd: we just started a series of unfortunate events! I think I'm going to love it.
Menu:
B: trying a chia pudding again, with premiere protein. What are people's take on chia seeds? Nutritional info says 5 carbs, 5 fibre. Do you count that as 5 or 0 net? I haven't been counting net carbs, just straight up carb numbers so far.
L: other half of tuna, with onions, peppers, mayo.
D: there was a ton of curry sauce leftover, so I'm going to add some stock, and turn it into a fish stew. We'll see how that goes...
S: rest of protein shake, Greek yogurt with bran buds if needed.

i will either add to yogurt or even tea sometimes. I add the calories to MFP, and it counts the carbs. I think subtracting carbs against fiber is not accurate. I know people do 'net' carbs but I think it is just a way to make them feel better about eating something. I also have hemp hearts and psyllium husks for this to help with the digestion issues.

If i did net carbs I would only do it with something that is in it's natural state and actually has fibere like chia seeds, not subtracting sugar alcohols in bars or something.... and are you eating that much of it that it makes a significant difference? probably not...

Thank you to everyone for their kind words about Duchess. Unfortunately she has essentially lost her ability to walk, so we will call the Vet when they open and this will probably be her last morning lying by the fire with me. DS spent the third night trying to sleep next to her, but I don't think he slept much. I came downstairs at 1 to check on them and he was not doing well. Not much sleep on my end either.
QOTD: I haven't been watching NetFlix much lately so I'm looking forward to hearing what other people are enjoying. I forgot about Prison Break so may turn that on
I am stepping up my calories as I look kind of thin and knobby in my bathing suits (tried them on when packing for Florida), so:
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, English muffin with peanut butter
L: tuna salad, pickles, cottage cheese
D: crab cake, veggies
S: protein chips, nut thins and hummus, almonds (dark chocolate powdered - yummm), light vanilla ice cream

I'm heartbroken to hear the news about Duchess.
