I am looking in to the Iron patch and it said it has 45mg. I take 65mg now. Is this what everyone is using? How can it be enough?

In theory, the patch iron is absorbed directly into your bloodstream, so you'd be getting all of it.

Most of the iron we eat, including oral supplements, would normally be absorbed in the duodenum. But that part is bypassed in us. So we would be absorbing a small percentage of that 65mg you've been taking.

I know people that take 300 mg or oral iron, and their numbers tank. The only way to be sure you are getting enough is to have complete periodic labs, and adjust your patches or oral meds accordingly.

I use the iron patch, and had to cut back to every other day, because it absorbed so well.

It was a big improvement over the pill form.

Hi

Here is a link to a thread discussing iron. I had posted about taking liquid iron and the iron rules... Good luck to you and yes, stay on top of your labs
