What;s on your Menu today (Monday) RNYers?
I'm with you on the cheese addiction.
I like the little pre-portioned bags of nuts as a carry-along snack. Also KIND bars (well, the TJ's version). I know you said no bars, but I feel like those bars are sorta different than a protein bar.
Yeah, that's all I've got LOL.
Oh, and lately I'm obsessed with apples, which are a good carry-along, though I'm guessing you mean non-perishable.

I am sure you heard that Kind Bars have been getting a lot of flack for their added sugar claims. I read this article from Eat This Not That that ranks them by healthiness, and actually some aren't too bad. But dammit, the really yummy chocolate covered ones don't seem to rank well...:(
Uh oh - I have NOT heard this, very interesting.
Luckily the two I eat are well-ranked (Caramel Almond & Sea Salt and Madagascar Vanilla Almond)
Thanks for the head's up.

Cheese addict here! Wish I had good suggestions for you, but my snack choices of late leave a lot to be desired (see last week's somersault discussion). Even though everything is on target with my menus I find that when I add snacks that aren't almost 100% dense protein, I stall out or even gain. So I'm trying to cut out the cheese, somersaults, protein bars, etc. and eat meat.
All meat all the time sounds good on paper until you are running out the door...

Good Morning! Glad you had a nice weekend. Mine was pretty relaxing, we didn't do much which was nice. This week at work will most likely be another very busy one which means it;ll go by quick.
QOTD: It really depends. I am more likely to give positive comments but will share negative feedback if I have a pretty bad experience.

Good morning DD2 and gang. I have to tell you all, I think I've found a (at least for now) miracle drug. Today is day 2 of Vyvanse prescribed for Binge Eating Disorder and I am serious when I tell you I feel like it's already changed my life. I am still going to be going to therapy, and I know I won't be able to take this medication for ever, but WOW, what a difference it has made for me already.
I ate 650 calories worth of food yesterday. That was with a party included and my hubby even made popcorn last night. I didn't blink an eye. If anything, I think I will have to make sure that I'm eating enough. I am at work and have had my breakfast and coffee, but by now I'd be thinking about what else I brought in my lunch bag and what I could safely get away with putting in my mouth to make sure I had enough food to last for the whole day. I used to obsess over it, just last week even. Now, my breakfast is sitting here half eaten on my desk. Seriously, I just don't care about it, and it's delicious!
DD2QOTD: I used to be one to keep my mouth shut, I was too embarrassed to complain. You know the whole self esteem issue when you're morbidly obese and just have ****ty self esteem anyway. Now, I will send food back if it's not cooked properly, only because I refuse to eat ****ty food. I have made complaints to corporations, specifically to Tim Horton's. With Timmy's their coffee is usually very consistent from store to store, but the one nearest to my house ALWAYS puts too much sugar/sweetener in. I would order a double/double (pre-surgery) and they would make it like a triple/triple. I hated it that it wasn't consistent and I emailed corporate headquarters on multiple occasions because it made me avoid that store all together. Now, when I go I get 1 cream and 1 splenda, so it doesn't affect me, so no biggie.
18 months since surgery
B: 1 egg, 1oz ham and 1/2 oz shredded cheese. Coffee with sugar free coffeemate
L: homemade bean and ham soup made with bone broth.
D: same as lunch
S: imitation crab legs
totals:
calories 509 protein 46 carbs 25 fat 20
This is definitely not enough food, so I will have to work it in later this evening. I honestly have no desire for food right now, so I may take a day or two of super low food to jump start my loss and then ramp up my protein a bit. Right now I'm basking in feeling not completely out of control, and I LOVE it.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
So happy for you Deanna...you are getting another honeymoon it seems. Yes bask in it for the moment...

Meh, my weight is up a pound since Friday. Likely because I ate mostly ham yesterday. My rings are all tight and I know I'm retaining water. I'm just hoping that my scale will really work with me quickly with this medication. I was 165.6 this morning, which is 11lbs up from my lowest weight at Thanksgiving.
