Good morning! I hope you all had a great day, yesterday. I had a good one, but it was not exactly what we planned. We started the day at Home Depot (always), then at the old condo where Grim played plumber for a few hours (my new Moen faucet looks gorgeous!). After we met the potential tenants, my parents came over to say hi, but we didn't have time to go to brunch as planned. Then we headed to LaLa Land, then met up with a friend for burgers. On the way home we stopped back at Home Depot and IKEA. Phew! We left the house at 7am and didn't get home until 7pm. Totally not the day I was expecting, but it was nice. I did go back and edit yesterday's menu for reality, and found that I was not too far off, although I definitely had some bites of various fried potato items that were not in the original plan. Whoops.

I have exciting news! The condo finally rented! I am heading back in a few hours to have him sign the lease and then he is going to give me a big fat check for first and last month's rent. Ahhhhhh. Of course the responsible adult in me, is going to use this pay off the credit card that paid for all of the renovations, but the rest of me really wants to go play. QOTD: What's the next fun purchase you have been saving up for? I think the only thing I have been interested in, is an instant pot! Of course, I always think that I am just one appliance away from being a gourmet chef...hahahaha.

As usual, weekends are hard to plan, and I am not sure exactly what today will bring, food-wise. We are back this morning to finish up the very very very last details on the house and sign the lease. Then we have to go for a farewell meal at our favorite diner near my old house, since we won't have the need to come by anymore. A quick stop to Trader Joe's then, back home for some relaxin' :)

18 months post op. 118.3lbs today (grrr--high end of comfort in maintenance).

How on earth are two cheeseburgers in one day excessive? It sounds like you hate America.

Morning!

had a great day yesterday. Got things done around the house, went to the tiniest brewery in the city, and had some relaxing time, planning my sisters baby shower.

qotd: most of our fun money is going towards home improvements. And a trip to Germany in the fall to visit my sister in law and husband (and maybe a side trip to Italy as well). But there is a good chance there is a new BBQ in our near future. We use ours a lot, and the one we have is getting pretty rough..

menu

B:protein shake

L: not sure. We might meet friends for brunch, if so, scrambled egg and bacon probably.

D:picked up sausages at the butcher shop, and will probably braise some cabbage to have with it.

have a great Sunday everyone!

Congratulations on the condo rental! Yesterday was a mixed day: DD came to visit and we shopped for work clothes for her, as she is getting a promotion and wants to upgrade her wardrobe. Then we went to dinner - I got an Irish stew and could only eat 1/3 -- leftovers!  On the other side our dog had some sort of crisis (stroke or seizure) so the early part of the day was spent at the vet and DS has been unwilling to leave her side (my almost 26 year old son slept on the floor with her last night).  She seems pretty good this morning though not 100%.

QOTD: I guess the Florida condo we are closing on a week from Monday is our next fun purchase (winter home for after I retire at the end of the year). Though it is fully furnished, I'm looking forward to putting my own touches in.  Most immediately that means replacing carpet with solid flooring (not sure what yet - either wood look tile or high-end engineered wood flooring) and putting a door on the "den" (either a pocket door or French doors).

B: eggbeater and cottage cheese

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: leftovers (taco meat or crab cake or Irish stew)

S: protein chips, low-carb waffle

I loved reading your post for the sole purpose that I am currently experiencing cabin fever from the very cold Pennsylvania weather and I have been thinking about all things vacation and camping 24/7 lately! A Florida condo sounds like a dream! We have a time share that we own for every other year so our next trip is 2018...but my goal later in life is to head SOUTH! Picking out the new flooring should be fun too :-)

Me too Please! When we went to see the youngest in Georgia in November we traveled all around Georgia. I wanted to stay on the coast or go farther south into Florida. It was 85 there and beautiful. Instead though we turned around and came back to Illinois where it was in the 20s. If it wasn't for our inlaws,we would be gone!

Thanks Karen. I think it was a stroke because watching her this morning she is definitely weaker on one side than the other.  Yes, DS is very compassionate.

We need far more of that in this world we live in.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog having a stroke, Liz.  Was it Duchess?  How sweet that your son slept on the floor with her last night.  What a kind boy he is!  I hope Duchess makes a full recovery and goes on to have many more years with you.
