What's on Your Saturday Menu, RNYers?
QOTD: why yes! I do indeed have a favorite mug! In fact, I brought it with me to Iowa when I went a couple of weeks ago because I love drinking out of it so much. I bought it for 25 cents last summer at St. Vincent de Paul's (similar to Goodwill - only run by the Catholic church). I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who's attached to a mug! (I like the look - plus the fact it holds two cups of coffee or tea. I don't have to get up to refill it that often!)
Working today - boo! But at least that means I don't have to take a vacation day on Wednesday when I'm doing all the baseline testing for the research study I'm in (bloodwork, MRI, etc). Tonight the library where my husband works is having a fundraiser with a Mardi Gras theme. Music, catered food, etc. Should be fun. I just have to control myself around the food!! (a Cajun place is doing it....yum!!)
19 months out:
b: homemade plain Greek yogurt, NSA blackberry/blueberry sauce
S: coffee with half & half, "Orange Julius" NSA protein/Metamucil shake (thanks to NYMom22!)
L: 1 C African chickpea/spinach soup
D: might have some L&F Greek yogurt before heading to the fundraiser so I'm not tempted to "blow it" on the catered food!
I'm not usually around to post on the weekend, but I just had to share my coffee mug, because I'm certain I have the best (shaped) one! I love the shape of this coffee mug, and I swear it keeps the coffee warmer (especially if you fill it with ho****er first, then coffee)... but anyway! Obviously a stainless steel travel mug works the best for temperatures, but this one makes me happy at home (and it doesn't see the dishwasher very often, because I'm constantly using it! Hahaha) And plus, it's Frozen... and PURPLE!
I got one of my listings under contract last night. I'm so happy! It's been on the market for nearly 6 months, and I was beginning to worry we'd never get it sold. It's supposed to be a cash offer, so let's hope it all goes through! I could use a 'bonus' to get some of my Christmas bills paid down!
I also haven't been on the scale because Hubby is still asleep, and I haven't had a chance to sneak in there without waking him up! That means I've had nothing to drink or eat because I won't do that until after I weigh... Sigh... if he doesn't wake up soon, I'll be forgoing weighing in for a cup of coffee!
B: bacon and probably some eggs... just made the kids 6 waffles to take with them as they head out the door to their Color Guard competition today. Usually frozen waffles don't phase me, but my son just smothered 4 of them in syrup and butter and sat here eating them in front of me... damn, they smelled good! (but no bites for me!)
L: It'll be a leftover kind of day... or eat out. There's ham, steak, egg muffins, and so much more protein in the fridge, I'll be good.
D: Probably out with the hubs, sans the kids... protein forward!
Have a great Saturday everyone!

Happy Weekend! Hope this finds everyone well.
QOTD: my son and his marine biology teacher made my favorite coffee mug. It's a Contigo in my favorite color with two messages on it. I use it, and a thermos mug exclusively. I cannot stand my coffee to become even slightly tepid.

I had a favourite mug- I bought it at TJ Maxx this summer when we were in PA and then I mistakenly bumped it in to the sink and it cracked. I've tried looking on Amazon for a replacement but I have not been successful. I think it was porcelain so not as heavy as our other mugs and the saying was awesome too.
Today is my oldest boy's 18th birthday- trying to wrap my head around that!! I also like to think of it as an anniversary of the day we became parents. I'm so proud of my kids - Inwouldn't change anything about them. Tyler is a senior this year so lots of milestones ahead for him.
Menu:
B: Poached egg
Lunch- in thinking of trying imitation crab
supper- Not sure. The rest of the family is having pulled pork. It's homemade from Christmas and I don't remember how much sugar I put in it so I will pass and probably have leftover chilli or filet of sole.
Here are my pics. The 2 of me are showing a tshirt I wore at our family reunion - we had a funny t-shirt contest. I put it on today and it fits so much better. May not be evident as it's not the best pic. The other is Tyler at 3 and the other is the broken favourite mug. :) :)
birthday tomorrow.
we we are celebrating our sons
