Good morning everyone! It's the weekend! We did it! I am happy because I think the next two days should be filled with just the right mix of relaxing and fun. This morning we are heading back to the old condo to show it to a few potential renters. Please keep your fingers crossed! It's been empty for awhile and it feels like throwing thousands of dollars away every month! After that we are going to meet my lovely parents for brunch somewhere. There is a brand new brew pub opening up close by and they are opening their doors at 11am this morning. If it's not too crowded on opening day, we will try to get a table there. I haven't seen a full menu yet, but their promos boast "smoked meats" so I think we'll find something :) And after that we are headed to see LaLa Land! Yay for a fun day!a

QOTD:Do you have a favorite mug? I drink a ton of hot liquids (coffee in the morning and tea at night), so I use a bunch of mugs. But I SWEAR coffee tastes better when I get to use my favorites. Below is a pic of my very favorite one. I am not sure why but the temperature is always perfect and it just starts my day off right if I get to have my coffee in the Keep Calm mug. My other top favorites include a mug that my mom bought me on the day of my surgery that says "Love the Selfie", a handcrafted blue ceramic mug, and a Starbucks City Mug from Toronto that Daisy brought me over the summer. (and yes, before you ask, those are Star Trek Salt & Pepper Shakers in the background--now you have a small glimpse into my life...lol)

I said in yesterday's post that my weekend menus have been pretty aspirational lately. I make a good menu but then plans change and I abandon it. Today will be hard because I am not sure where we are eating, but I will really try to stick to a basic plan! I am impressed with Kat who edits, not just MFP, but also edits her post throughout the day for accuracy....so I will try to do the same today.

18 months post op. Today's weight 117.6.

Edited to reflect what I really ate...

B: Fit Frappe Mocha Coffee; babybel cheese & 1/8 c almonds

S: 1/2 Chomps Meat Stick

L: 1/2 bacon cheeseburger and a handful of homemade potato chips with sour cream dip and 3 garlic Parm tater tots.

S: Movie Popcorn

D: skipped it--not hungry, just sipping tea...

Morning weekend crew!

No idea what the weekend has in store, and I like it!

Qotd: when we picked out dishes for our registry, we spent a creepy amount of time holding mugs at The Bay haha. But I'm happy to say I still love them.

Menu

B: trying something a
different. I mixed some chia seeds with half a cup of chocolate premiere protein. We'll see....

L/D: not great post op planning, but I have no idea. I'm feeling seafood. Maybe if we aren't doing anything, I'll try to make a bouillabaisse or some other kind of fish stew?

S: the rest of the premiere protein for sure, and if needed, some jalapeño Cheese with a slice of pastrami

Going to catch up on yesterday's posts now!

Thank goodness for the weekend! I busted out 16 days after PS yesterday - I have been WFH, But hadn't gone out except to the doctor.  I did errands and we went out to eat.  Today DD is coming and we are going work clothes shopping for her. Yeah!

QOTD: YES! I had this mug made with my elderly puppies on it (the kids have them too).  I know the pups won't be here in a few years, so I wanted to capture them now.

B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: going out

S: cheese sticks, protein bar (will probably be on the fly)

Oh, Liz, I just LOVE the pictures of your puppies on your mug!!!  They are so adorable!  How old are they?  It's so hard when our fur babies get old.  I sure wish they lived longer.  I lost my two 15 year olds last year and it was so hard.

I know! When my mother died (7 years ago), she was looking forward to seeing her boys (my brother and father) and all her pets!  Chiquita (chihuahua) is 15 and Duchess is 13.  Duchess has a heart condition - Chiquita is good (and chihuahuas can have a long life).  Chiquita was my deceased daughters puppy who we inherited so that is very special. But I treasure both of them!

There are a whole bunch of doggies up in Heaven that I hope will come running to meet me when I die.  I don't know how I will pet them all at once!  LOL.  That is special that Chaquita was your daughter's dog.  I hope both she and Duchess live a lot longer.

That is such a great idea Liz. I may have to do that with pictures of Lily and our two cats.

That's a neat idea. We have an elderly cat I know won't be with us a lot longer. We should get some good pictures of her while we can. She's a sweet old lady.
