Mm.....those are amazing...
we have had a crazy busy week here, and I don't like those weeks. Tomorrow we will be home, but Saturday will be super busy. Urg. Today is our co op day. We get together with other homeschoolers all day. I teach do some science experiments with 7-9 year olds in the morning (making rock candy and smashing geodes today) and art in the afternoon (painting like Monet today) it's a lot of fun but a long day.
QOTD- oh, I'd eat some. I am satisfied with a couple bites of sweets, mostly because even though I don't dump, if I eat very much at all I feel terrible for hours. My weakness is more things like chips and bread and that sort of thing...
food today-
breakfast- Brie and some deli meat, coffee of course
Lunch- buffalo chicken salad with celery. We pick up Sonic happy hour on the way home from co op (probably no one here knows sonic, lol), and I love to get an unsweetened iced tea with peach.
snack- I bought a few protein bars to try. I have not seen any with decent stats in my usual stores, but I was at a different store last night and they had some brands I've heard you all talk about for 88cents each, so I got a few. I'm going to have half of one with my hot tea.
Dinner- pepper jack burger and salad
Snack- Greek yogurt

I know Sonic! Grab me a large diet cranberry limeade, light ice, please
We have them here in Oklahoma, had them in Georgia, and Texas too! (I think they started here in Oklahoma? Not sure though)
I used to love their burgers and onion rings, but way before surgery, I had to stop eating them because I'd burp that taste for the rest of the day! But I have been known to have a few of the drinks, during happy hour, of course!

Good morning menu gang! Beautiful morning here with the sunshine. I am ready for the weekend to have all of my babies at home with me. As much as I LOVE bacon I dont think I would like it on a cupcake lol.
QOTD- If it is something I really really love, I will have a bite. It has to be one of my favorites though or its not worth it for me.

Good morning menu peeps! Look at me posting before 8:00. Thursdays will be my official weigh in day since I had surgery on a Thursday. 266.3 and 15 lbs down since surgery. I'm going to start either walking at the mall or using the treadmill at the gym next week so hopefully that will help.
Today is the official start of my puréed food stage. I made ricotta bake last night and had a little taste but I think it needs a bit more sauce. I also drank a vanilla premier protein yesterday as my protein numbers were low. It wasn't so bad. I had lots of ice with it.
I actually have no idea what's for breakfast. We are meeting my in-laws for breakfast but I think I will eat before we go because I have no idea what that restaurant will have that will be suitable for me. Not every place makes poached eggs and I haven't tried scrambled yet. We are having chilli for supper so I can purée that and have it. It will be made in my Instant Pot - and I knew it was invented in Ottawa- but I belong to a few instant pot pages on facebook.
QOTD; I've always been able to leave things at a party. The only sweet thing I truly love are store bought birthday cakes. I like a lot of other things but it's not hard for me to say no to them. 2 weaknesses would be nachos and shrimp ****tail. I could eat shrimp ****tail or the shrimp rings all night easily. My biggest food weakness has always been my meals. If I really like something, I can easily have 2 or 3 servings. That was the one habit I tried the hardest at to break before surgery. I made really good progress- didn't have seconds even at Christmas dinner - and will stick with that hopefully for the rest of my life.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Lucky you on having shrimp be one of your favorites. You'll find it fits in nicely in a high protein diet, but you won't be able to eat a whole lot of them like you used to as they fill you up fast (dense protein).

By the way - when I was doing the paleo diet, I used to make these snacks that I lived- medjool dates- seeds removed and if desired replace with an almond. Wrap with bacon and bake at 400 until the bacon is just crisp. They are surprisingly delicious and I never thought I'd like bacon with sweet. And then- when we were at our company Christmas party they had them as an appetizer! Other dates will work but medjool are the best that I've tried.
