The next step to healthy...smoking cessation
I have a follow-up with the pharmacist that is helping on Feb. 1st! She sent a letter today saying that she wants me to have a "quit date" on that day! Here goes...

I smoked for 23+ years and quit 5 years ago. I used the patch, and I am so glad that I finally did it.
One thing that I can tell you about quitting smoking that helped me is this: Just be stubborn about it. It's not easy, your body isn't going to like quitting and it's going to suck sometimes. But just power through it, you CAN be smoke free. Don't give in and go through the crap of it for nothing by smoking.
Congrats and good luck! It's hard but it's totally doable!
I figure if I can say no to just about everything that I love to taste, I can say no to tasting a cigarette. I hate the way they smell, taste, cough, etc. But....I do looooove smoking. It just does something for me that I can't explain. I am hoping that the Chantix will do the trick, and the patches will help with cravings.
And....YAY to my company wanting it's employees to be healthier! I swear that this company has saved my life from obesity (even though I'm still obese...but not much longer), and now they're going to save me from cancer sticks!!!

You can do this! This is how I quit as well and I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 20 years and 1 pack a day for the 5 years before that. I did chantix and a nicotine inhaler, the patches made me queasy.
Just make up your mind and do it for you!!!! Good luck!

I quit on Halloween- surgeon wouldn't do it if I still smoked. I quit cold turkey and it sucked. I attribute my success to changing my routine. I was a big morning smoker, and after meals. I started setting my alarm so late I would have to rush into the shower in the morning and after meals I started walking around the block. Once you get past the first three days, the struggle is mental. Change your routine!! Good luck!
