What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
OK, I'm just going to have to stop trying to read everyone's post, and just come back when I can, and get my post done before I run out of time like yesterday!
I didn't post yesterday, but I was here, and even if my menu wasn't, I did well!
Had a meeting that was catered with BBQ... beautiful, beautiful meat was had by all! And of course, most of you probably have seen my post about my day. Don't get me wrong, having all the compliments yesterday were wonderful, and I know they came from honesty, and love... I just got overwhelmed and fell into some kind of rabbit hole. I'm doing better today.
QOTD: I have a shelf in the guest room closet where I put truly random presents people have brought us. But if it's a piece of jewelry that my niece has handpicked from her schools Santa store, I try to put it on every single time she's around! And the scarf my sister in law gave me for Christmas is on the chair where all of our coats are, and I have worn it around her at least once. But the random **** (cutesy ceramic bowls, wind chimes, off brand candles... etc) goes into the closet, to be used for secret Santa stuff down the road.
Weight this morning 153.4... yesterday was 154.4. I have watched the scale continually move downward - even in tiny increments - since this time last week... nice!
B: 3 pieces of bacon and 3 bites of an egg
S: beef jerky
L: chicken Parmesan leftovers
D: Not sure... there's turkey and ham in there (sounds like thanksgiving at our house! LOL), so it'll be a leftover kinda night. Last night I had leftover spinach dip I found frozen in the fridge that I cooked up - with some pork rinds, it was yummy!)
S: Latte with Fairlife milk skim

Hi Daisy and all! That scarf sounds pretty amazing, to be honest! I haven't received a lot of bad gifts (if I do, I say thanks and give it away or throw it away) but I will never forget when a good friend of mine got the free gift that came with a perfume from her mother in law! She was so offended that her MIL would give her the free gift LOL.
I also have big and small pouch days. And even big and small meals. For example last night at dinner I could barely eat 1/4 of it and I had to reassure the waiter that it really was delicious but I was just full. Then I woke up today ready to eat a house.
Time since surgery: 3 years, 1 month, 1 week
B: Big ole coffee, and then Trader Joe's artichoke and jalapeno dip with multi-grain pita chips, it just sounded delicious! (and it was)
L: Leftover thin crust pizza topped with 2 cheeses, onions, brussels sprouts
D: Instant pot lemon garlic chicken, a few bites of sweet potatoes
E: 45 minutes on the elliptical. I have been slacking on the exercise after being sick with a hacking cough for a week so I am taking it somewhat easy.
Have a great day, all!
All these gift stories reminded me of this snl skit:

QOTD: I would never tell someone I didn't like their gift. It may go in the attic never to be seen again, but I would graciously accept and be appreciative. Funny you should mention regifting - I don't do it often, but I have a package ready to go right now that is a partial regift.
B: Decaf coffee w/scoop of GNC Vanilla Cream protein
L: 2 oz. turkey, 1T light mayo, bit of celery mixed as turkey salad
S: 1/2 C Light-n-Fit Greek yogurt, 1.5 T PB2, 1/2 scoop unflavored protein
D: 1 Beef hotdog (no roll) and sauerkraut. DH stopped at the butcher shop last night and picked up a 5 lb. box of these doggies. They are the best hotdogs we have ever tasted. Now that we're both eating less, I think I counted 12 additional packs that I froze. We don't eat hotdogs very often, so we are set for quite a while.
E: 60 minutes on the stationary bike done. Also plan to do a 3 mile walk w/DH after work since we're having a "Spring" day.

Good morning, menu family! It's cooler here today than it was yesterday, and I have the heater under my desk blazing as we speak. I got my shoes wet this morning while washing my hands under the barn faucet after I fed the pigs, so that doesn't help the frigid feet!!! Oh...pigs!! I am so happy to report that my sickly swine was feeling better when I got home. I received a text message from vet saying that there was nothing wrong with her that a little extra love and a B12 shot couldn't fix. I haven't given her the shot yet, but the extra love.....oh yes. She ate and was happy to have some attention. I guess we've been so busy since the stock show that we haven't given her the attention that she has been needing. Pigs get depressed, too. If she's still not eating her ration like she should be by tonight, I will give her the shot, and I'm not looking forward to having to do that, so I gave her some extra time this morning...hence having to wash my hands and my feet being wet.
QOTD: I love to receive gifts, even if they are hideous. On my 21st birthday, I was pregnant with my first. My aunt, who has terrible gift giving abilities, gave me a set of four plastic "Tiki cups" as I call them. I laughed out loud, and she was so pleased that I loved them so much! She told me that since it was my 21st, I needed to have my drinks in style. She's an odd duck. Anyway, after pointing out my huge baby belly, she laughed and filled my "Tiki cup" with iced tea. I'm pretty gracious, and I always say thank you. Every time Aunt Gayla is around, the Tiki cups come out for her Rum Punch! Here's a picture. They are exactly like this!!!
So, yesterday I mentioned that I forgot to eat, so I was cramming protein in as fast as I possibly could. Told DH about all of that, and he told me that I just needed to not forget to eat breakfast. So....this morning, he texted me to remind me to eat, because I don't get hungry, and I totally forget about it until someone else at works leaves for lunch. I eat at my desk, so it was really nice of him to remind me. So.....breakfast has gone down the hatch!!!

I'm so glad that he's coming around. Good support is, sometimes, hard to find. It's even harder if your family is not on the "band wagon!"
You're doing so well. I'm so proud of you!!!

Those are the funniest and most hideous cups I have ever seen. I'm going online to look for more right now.
