What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
I always make a gynormous protein shake or latte (only a couple of scoops of protein, but lots of liquid, ice, and flavorings) and drink a third mid-morning, a third mid-afternoon, and a third in the evening, so I often don't have a desire to snack, but if/when I do - something like a hard-boiled egg or one of those Dannon Fit & Light Greek yogurts usually do the trick. Both of those options are about 75-80 calories and have a lot of protein.

my centre had us on 3 meals and 2 snacks from day one. that is what I do and it works for me. I have days I want more food than that (big pouch days) and days where I don't even eat half my food I am not hungry at all (small pouch days). There is no way 3 years out I could eat just 3 meals a day, no way. If you can fit it in your calories for sure have a snack. If it doesn't work for you then you can always take it out.

Hi Everyone! Happy Birthday to DaisyMama!
One more "work from home" day for me today. The weather is still pretty crappy here. One of my schools is closed, two are on delayed openings and three are open, as usual. Needless to say I will be very happy to post a beach pic on Friday!
QOTD: Hmm, it's hard to remember...my taste buds changed right after my lapband surgery, which was over 6 years ago. I remember liking/not liking different protein shakes before/after but I can't remember which ones. I also lost a taste for thick and creamy soups. I used to love clam chowder and cream of broccoli but now they make me nauseous to think about. Now that I had my revision, I don't think it's a taste change as much as intolerance, but I just don't handle seafood very well. I have had several instances when I got stuck, which turned to foamies, and then severe acid reflux and vomiting. For that reason, I am really turned off by the idea of fish, which makes me sad because I used to love it!
We were just listening to Jim Gaffigan do a really funny stand up routine about "diet food" and he had a funny bit about cottage cheese. You should try to find it. Hilarious!
I liked my menu yesterday (I ended up having steak for dinner...mmm!), so I am copying it again today, except that I am not sure what's for dinner, yet.

Great picture of you and your Mom. Happy Birthday to Mom! A beach picture sounds great as the beach is my favorite place.
QOTD: Nothing completely grosses me out. Funny you should mention cottage cheese - I have always liked it and eat a ton of it happily now. The one thing that turns me off the most are protein shakes. I never loved them, but I dislike them more now, though I will drink them (and have had to use them some post-PS).

Hi everyone!
QOTD: Don't know yet since I haven't had surgery. I sure do hope it is sweets that I can't stand anymore! ;)
Today we have a teacher work day in my county and then I have my nutrition follow-up appointment. This is the last sign-off I need before getting insurance approval! Yay! I just had my first consult 12/9 so I am happy I was able to get everything done so quickly. Now I am hoping for a first week in March surgery date. I can't do before Feb 25th because I have a Science Olympiad team that I coach and that is our competition date! So anytime after that and I will be fine.
B: Protein Shake
S: homemade sourdough bread (coworker brought and I know I will give in and have a slice so I am just going to go ahead and count for one!)
L: P3, yogurt, moon cheese
D: left over chicken salad if my husband didn't eat it all
E: already went to the gym ran 1 mile, walked 2 miles
Have a great day everyone!

Looks like we may be going through surgery about the same time. I am scheduled for March 13. Hope things work out well and you get your surgery the first week in March. I have been jumping through insurance hoops since August, and I am so ready to get this surgery done.
