Ugh!! just cant reach onderland
So...just sharing some frustration and, as always, welcome to feedback.
I am almost 5 months out from RNY. The first few months were relatively tough related to meeting goals, so once I started feeling better, I concentrated on meeting protein goals. I've been very successful in consistently meeting that goal.
For January, I decided that I would now also concentrate on liquid intake goals. I've probably spent most of my life dehydrated, so this is a challenge for me. Over the last couple of weeks, I added more and more liquids (including protein drink, protein water and cranberry flavored water).
I am also trying to be more consistent in my exercise. I tend to go in waves with this one - good for a few weeks then slow down and then good again.
Well...I had a stretch of about 12 days of a stall, then a small loss and now a small GAIN!!
I log all of my food. I eat protein forward. My calorie intake averages around 700-750 per day. My carbs are low.
I am 4-5 pounds from finally reaching onederland and I SO want to make that first big goal.
Thoughts?

You are 5 months out and you have lost over 85 lbs it looks like from your slider....that's great! That's an average of 17lbs a months, not shabby at all :)
If you are doing everything you are supposed to you will get there. You have an additional 7 months of "help" from the surgery just keep working at it! Congrats on a good job so far.

Thanks Ceci!
Just want to be transparent...I've lost 58 lbs since my surgery. The other almost 40lbs was from my first nutritionist appt (so the beginning of my WLS journey. ) I actually consider myself a "slow" loser compared to many on these boards. But...I have been very consistent until the last few weeks.
Keep at it. . .
I was 203 for 6 weeks, and just got to 200, but no movement again. I do see body fat going down, and muscle growth going up, so I am happy with that.
Change things up. When we diet with severe deficit for a long time, our system battles back. Cycle up and down carbs and cals a little, and/or increase/change up exercise, to spur the body again.
Small gains and losses are part of the plan, and mostly water weight changes, as long as we are eating correctly.
Patience grasshoppersan! You'll reach onderland. Congrats on the progress you've made so far, you're doing really, really well. I know the closer you are to onderland the further away it seems. My weight did a back & forth between twoderville & onderland but it was so great once I was able to see the 1 b4 my weight on a regular basis.
You'll get there! Good luck to you!

The scale messes with our head... A LOT.
Don't let it derail you... at only 5 months out, from what I've been told, if you are doing what you should, and not cheating, you have a lot more to go! Just chug the water this weekend, and I bet by next week, you'll be there!
