Am I eating too much at 4 weeks post op?
I Quest chips...
I only eat them on occasion... I also love pork rinds... but at 4 weeks, the pork rinds were SO HEAVY on my pouch!

Meat! Make it your best friend. Dump the peanut butter it's evil. I love the stuff and after a slow down in my loss around month 3 ... I double checked the serving size and there is no tablespoon at my house that will give me the grams they are suggesting. I was easily not logging my PB intake by almost 1/2. If you do continue with the PB weight it do not use a tablespoon.
The banana ... also not a real solid option. If you need something to keep your bowels moving the chili should help that also there are many supplements to help. i did find that stacking meat on top of meat made potty time a little weird but again supplements.
Half a banana is about 50 calories but then 13grams of sugar add in the PB and I'll estimate about 100 calories for a teaspoon and only 4grams of protein. So you have 150 calories going to something that's not really working hard to keep you full and get your protein numbers up. Compare that to 3oz of chicken breast and you get 140 calories with 26g of protein and no carbs. You'll be fuller longer and that 26g of protein is a great step towards making your protein goals for the day.

The cake is a lie, but Starbucks is not.
Yes! I experimented early using tablespoons and cups instead of a scale. Wow, were they off. I ended up weighibg protein powder instwad of a scoop.
We will always, always, always take a bigger portion than we think we are. The spoonfulls and cups are always heaping and packed. Funny -- they are always over, and NEVER under.

I just tried beef yesterday (at 2 months) and could barely eat an ounce! It would be so much easier to get my protein in if I could eat 3 oz!

yes I know, I feel like people are In disbelief that I can heat stake and chicken at 4 weeks out but I can. I guess I am lucky that way :)
I don't find it easier to get my protein in by eating instead of drinking my shakes because even though I can east the meat I can only eat very little because I get very full.
I totally get that I should try and get two protein deinks a day but I just cant do it. If I push myself I throw up, because of this my Nut recommended the bars so I can get my protein in.

My Dr's office wanted us off protein shakes ASAP and preferred we ate the protein and add additional protein (unflavored if needed) to our food. I could not stomach the shakes anymore anyway, so that was fine with me. What a challenge it was/is to get all the protein in! Honestly, half the time, I just can't do it, but it is getting easier everyday. Be glad you can eat 3oz meat!!
