1 week update
Good morning RNYers! Hope you're all doing well.
Hard to believe it's been a week already! Things are going well and I'm down 13 lbs since surgery for a total loss of 25 lbs. Already my winter coat fits better! I haven't had a ton of energy but today is better- every day gets a little better.
I'm getting fluid in but protein has been a challenge. I've never minded protein shakes ever and now they make me nauseous. I had bought 2 cases of Premier Protein- the only thing I stocked up on ahead of time - and I can't stand them. Luckily my 18 year old loves them so he will finish them up. Unflavoured protein is my go-to now. I've been adding it to soup and yogurt. This morning I started adding it to my very diluted juice and that was ok- far better than the protein shakes anyway. :) I think today will be the first day I meet my protein goals.
I learned that plain water goes down like rocks! Who new? Lol Fortunately Daisy reassured me that this is completely normal so I will stick to adding juice for now. As a bonus it helps to make the protein powder more palatable. I also started tracking in MFP. Tried Baritastic but it wasn't working for me.

I'm so happy...you worked so hard to get here! Water...I have had issues with plain water too which I did not expect. I have always been a good water drinker. I added a splash of juice too and it was much better. I didn't like having it around though because I my kids want to drink it too, and I have a couple of them that don't need to drink calories. Then recently a friend of mine turned me onto cold brewed herbal tea. I love it! I buy those "zinger" and berry/fruit flavored celestial seasonings herbal tea bags and steep one in a big glass of water in the fridge. Very good.

I use the sugar free flavor things you add to water... I don't buy the Mio because it's too expensive, but I get off brand ones, and ones at Big Lots that are cheaper... I have a water-flavor addiction problem... I bet I have 10 different kinds at home, and at least 3 here at work... and one in my purse!
