What's on your Menu Today (Thursday) RNYers - Day 4 of AMAW/CAMAW!
Morning all!
We had an absolutely gorgeous day here yesterday - it was sunny and 68 degrees. My folks left in the morning and then after I took the kiddo to school I went for a walk. I changed my route a bit, the typical route is 2.6 miles and this one was 2.7 BUT it had a lot more hills and I'd be lying if I said that the aftermath was pleasant. I hobbled around with sore feet and ankles for the rest of the day, and I am looking forward to a time, in the not so distant future, when that won't be the case. Today my son has his 5yr checkup and then school, and I'm hoping to get some work done while he's in class. Still doing great with the CAMAW menu, but I'll be happy to have a salad on Saturday , in the meantime my MIL brought over some lovely bone-in Ribeyes last night and dinner was absolutely fabulous. The scale is continuing downward, down another 1lb this morning! The best part....I can wear my wedding ring again!
QOTD: My favorite dense protein is probably steak, made on a charcoal grill...best flavor ever. Hubby has perfected the art of grilling steak, which is funny because he doesn't eat it! He just perfected it for me... now that's love . Behind steak I love pork chops, chicken, and shrimp.
MENU:
(yesterday's CAMAW day 3)
B: Greek Yogurt, 3 slices of Bacon, Coffee
S: EASAdvantedge Protein Shake
L: roast beef rolls with cream cheese
D: Ribeye steak (nom nom nom!)
Have a fabulous day!

I'd be unstoppable if not for law enforcement & physics
My ring is way too big for me! When I got married I was already a big guy so my ring size was(are ya ready for this?) 15 1/2 so as soon as started to lose weight my ring was falling off. I had to put away until I'm finished loosing weight then I will have it resized.

Good Morning any happy Friday-eve everyone! We are getting today so I am wearing my new rain boots-YESSSS! Glad to hear you're feeling better.
CAMAW has been great so far. I didn't realize I was feeling so bloated (all those carbs holding water I guess). It was the perfect timing!
QOTD: It would really be a toss up between steak (yum) and tuna. I wasn't really a steak person pre-surgery and if I did eat it, it had to be very well done (sorry Grim, I now know the errors of my ways!) and of course that has changed now.
Time since surgery: 2 years, 5 months
B: SF latte, eggbeaters, and 2 turkey sausage links
L: Can of albacore tuna mixed with spicy mustard and boiled egg
S: SF latte, Vanilla Siggi yogurt, and jerky pack
D: 4 oz. grilled chicken breast and a decaf SF latte with fairlife later in the evening
E: 6 miles this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch
V/W: On track
Totals: Cals:996 Protein:138 Carbs:58 Fat:23
Have a great one!
Food from yesterday:
Forty degrees and cloudy here in Illinois with a chance of rain later so Lily and I got up and did our 3.2 miles early. I've been struggling with wanting to snack so I may spend some time on the recumbent bike this afternoon too. Post op 4 years 4.5 months and weight at 117.6 today. QOTD favorite proteins are salmon, ribeye, shrimp and tuna. I like most meats though but have stopped eating chicken breast and eat thigh meat instead as its more moist. I love seafood but hated it before surgery too. Don't have it often though because of price. Food for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1/2 c tuna salad 1/2 c cucumber slices D 2 scrambled eggs and 2 link sausages S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices that move you one step closer to your goal!

God struck at me yesterday. I swear that I did not do this like I said I was in previous posts. I was making some more Rotisserie Chicken for dinner and damn if I didn't drop over half of the chicken on the floor. The dogs went nuts. I swear - accident - really!!! I've had the yips lately and have been dropping stuff. I dropped a shake on myself last night. But I wasn't sad to see most of it go. Man that's a lot of chicken on those things. I'm eating that stuff in my sleep.
QOTD I ate some beef tenderloin right after I got clearance for dense protein. Man that was good. I just ate 1 ounce that evening and it was so good. So that is my pick. I've had it a couple times - yummy and I'm not eating 1 ounce of it anymore. :)
CAWAW is going great. No slips other than sucking on a couple of pieces of no sugar mints. I weight only once a week, so not sure how it is going there, but I think good. My second NSV yesterday - I got on my exercise bike. I couldn't make my legs work it just a couple of months ago, so that was great. It actually felt good to exercise for 10 minutes - though my hips are super tight this morning.
B - Greek nonfat yogurt and flax
L - Yes, Rotisserie Chicken. Still enough left for one or two more meals. Never have someone buy you a whole frickin chicken.
D - The last of the egg drop soup I made a couple days ago; Chicken burger, Laughing cow cheese, Salsa/Mustard
S - Ostrim beef stick (half); premier protein shake - banana cream

You know -- I have actually frozen cooked rotisserie chicken in portioned amounts -- Especially the dark meat to use in quick recipes later. Just an idea! :-)

Thanks - I've done that a time or two. However, I find that it can be a bit dry the first time around. So I try to avoid the freezer. But I should probably do that next time and see if I tolerate the reheat. I drive my wife nuts because I usually only warm the chicken to keep it from getting dryer. She can't stand cold or luke warm food. She even heats her Gefilte fish. Sacrilegious.

I freeze it with a bit of broth in the package, especially for the white meat. Takes care of the dry factor.
Heats gefilte fish!?? I'd have to agree. :-)
