What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers? Day 3 of AMAW/CAMAW!
Carb withdrawl is real... and some in the low carb community will also refer to the 'LC flu', which will happen to some that have eaten lots of carbs for a long time and then decide to detox, going low/no carb for a period of time (We used to tout 10 days to completely clear the carb monster on the low carb I used to be on regularly)... they would get almost flu like symptoms, not to mention being on edge and pissy... That never really happened to me, but I do remember feeling like I was in withdrawl.
All that processed **** isn't good for us, at all! Why oh why do we even eat it? Oh yes... because it's ADDICTING!

Good morning! I've been MIA on here as I've been sick, still? again?? I ended up with bronchitis after relapsing twice. I've been sick for about 4 weeks now and I'm so over it. I rarely got sick before surgery, so this is weird for me. Maybe healing and drastic diet change has lowered my immune system? Like DD2, I always started to come down with something but it would go away.
Having a hard time eating meat in general this past week, my pouch doesn't like it at all. One or two bites and I get a 'oh hell no' from down there... I am eating mainly cheese, eggs (only if cooked a certain way) and soup. relying on protein powder a lot lately. If I could stomach the shakes I'd go back to them. AMAW has been out of the question because of this. I used to do all meat weeks when I was doing serious low carb, it really gets you back on track!
almost 2 months since surgery
B- egg - soft scramble with cheese and green salsa
L - chicken broth with protein powder
d- going to try eating the insides of a few TJ's pot stickers and see how it goes. If all fails, maybe some TJ's Roasted red pepper and tomato soup w/protein powder.
V- good
L- doing okay
E- too hard to breath to truly exercise, even walking exhausts me right now.

I missed two AMAW weeks since I've been here... I couldn't do enough meat at first either... hang in there! Maybe by the next one, you'll be good to go!
(and still, after 8 months, some meats are sketchy for me!)
Hope you finally get to feeling better!

Thank you very much! Being able to tolerate meat would make this WOE soooo much easier! Here's to that day!

ACK, I forgot the QOTD, as per usual. I really wanted to respond to this one because I am a huge recycler. Our township provides the large trash bins, and I have a 96 gallon bin for recycling. We always fill it. Our recycling is picked up curbside every two weeks, and now after the holidays, we have a backlog. My husband also works from home, and he repairs machines in the hospital labs. ALL of his parts get shipped to our house, so we have a bunch of stuff in our garage, which means that we also have a bunch of cardboard boxes on a regular basis. I sometimes wonder if we are just crazy or what, but it's crazy when our 96 gallon trash can is only 1/3 full and our recycling is overflowing and backed up in stacks in the garage. I wish they would pick up the recycling weekly, we'd probably not have the backlog of recycling that we do.
QOTD: yep - I'm a great recycler! In fact, I bring my recyclable items (like yogurt containers) home from work, because I'm afraid the custodial staff isn't always doing it!! (we have separate containers for recycling at work, but I've heard rumors that some custodians dump it in with the trash - yikes! So I've been bringing mine home....)
19 months out
B: homemade pumpkin Greek yogurt, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola
S: double SF mocha protein shake, coffee with half & half
L: I'm thinking a hard-boiled egg and a cup of African chickpea/spinach/carrot soup
D: either turkey meatballs or tuna with balsamic
maybe another Greek yogurt later on if I can afford the calories
exercise: really wanting to, but I should probably give my ankle a few more days to fully recover - I don't want to re-injure it!
African chickpea/spinach/carrot soup sounds so interesting! What kind of seasonings do you put in it?
