Water/gurgling question
I will be 4 weeks out from my RNY tomorrow. I feel like things are going well, but I have a question about gurgling noises when drinking. Whenever I drink water I have significant gurgling/belching for up to a minute after each drink. It doesn't matter if the water is room temp or ice cold. Hot tea, cold milk, and protein shakes very rarely cause this, it seems to be mainly when I drink plain water. It is making it difficult to drink much water during the day because I am constantly interacting with people and it is very loud. I've tried different temperatures and tiny sips without improvement. Is this something I just have to ride out and will go away with time or do I need to learn to deal with it and focus on drinking more hot tea at work?
It gets better over time, but you'll still gurgle more than you did before surgery.
You're still healing. Give it time.

Gurgler here too. It is getting better, sometimes I can vurp and the gurgling does not happen. In the beginning my pouch was very loud whenever I ate anything. That is pretty much ch gone now.
Hahaha ok, it's not just me! I'm 6 weeks out and have been noticing the same thing. I totally understand what you mean about it being difficult to drink water during the day. I deal with different clients all day long and don't want to be making all these noises while I'm with them. Sounds like it will get better for both of us though. We just need to hang in there! ?
