What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers? DAY 2 of AMAW/CAMAW
on 1/17/17 6:37 pm - GTA, Ontario, Canada
good looking meats there Cathy. I hope your son's arm has healed well and he is back to having fun again without the cast!
Great menu, keep up the great work!
Good morning menu crew! FYI- I'm in a few facebook groups for WLS- I recommended this thread on one of them yesterday and some lady replied back she found people on OH to harsh. She was referring to the VSG page but Hnmmm. Do you want truthful, helpful advice on how to lose the weight and keep it off? Anyway I am so glad to have found OH and especially all of you. But a big shout out to DD2. She has been one of my biggest supporters - texting me and keeping in touch, giving me lots of tips and tricks. Thank you!
QOTD: Charles's aunt is almost 70 and has successfully kept of f 70 lbs for about 4 years in spite of needing knee replacement surgery. She lost it by following a mostly paleo and whole food diet. I also think but am not sure - that appetite diminishes somewhat with age. If your dad could try to do mostly whole foods, protein forward and high protein, he will lose weight and at his age, it will hopefully be easier for him to keep it off.
Okay so so I stepped on the scale this morning and I am at 269.7!! I was so pleasantly surprised. That's almost 12 lbs since surgery!
Menu today-
Breakfast- Iogo yogurt with a TBSP of protein powder mixed in
Lunch- Awesome homemade tomato soup that I made in the Instant Pot yesterday also with unflavoured protein powder mixed in- and to be honest this will probably be dinner as well.
Have a a great day everyone!

So glad you're doing well Teena. I honestly think coming here pre-op and posting will be a help for you in the long run...you've already established that habit.
And I don't find people here 'off putting' at all. They will tell you when you're screwing up--that's why it's called ACCOUNTABILITY!

I made it kind of from my head.
1 can of crushed tomatoes
1 package of Knorr Onion Soup Mix
1 tsp of kosher salt
black pepper to taste
6 cups of water
1 cup of milk or cream
I strained the tomatoes because of being so new. Add all ingredients except the dairy to the pot. I used my instant pot so I put it in the instant pot on manual for 10 minutes. I let it natural release just because I was resting. If you don't have an instant pot I think letting it summer for about 30 minutes on the stove will work too. Add in the dairy and serve. Also- I went light on the seasoning to be careful of my new pouch. You could add garlic, red pepper flakes and so on.

Thank you! I do have an Instant Pot (I adore it!) and I will try my hand at this recipe once I'm done with CAMAW...I think I've actually got all of the ingredients except perhaps the crushed tomatoes...as I usually keep just diced on hand.
