How are you doing on AMAW Nik? I am loving it so far!! Only 3 days left!
Great menu, another person who is a shrimp lover, I could eat that for 3 meals!!
Don't you hate it when you forget your patches in the morning I do!
I love that your BF is loving he challenge, that is so awesome and warms my heart. I am sure you will drop a few even if you are 16 yrs out, its all meat all week how could you not! LOL
Keep up the great work, looking forward to Day 3 and your menu!
Hi there everyone!
Late start here, so I just wanted to jump on and get my post!
I did great on CAMAW yesterday... had a change for dinner and ended up making chili cheese dogs... I did 2oz of hotdog, topped with 2oz of chili, and a sprinkle of cheese on it, with mustard. Divine!
Yesterday we got news that Filet, our Cow, had a prolapsed uterus... the vet said it wasn't cost effective to try to save her, with the threat of her possibly going septic from infection and making her inedible... so we had to make the decision to have her processed early. She was only 725lbs this morning when she got weighed at the processors, so we're looking at 325-350lbs of meat in about a month. Good thing is the processor we took her to guarantees you get your own animal back, they process each one individually. We asked for as much steak/roast/ribs that we can get with the least amount of ground beef possible. While I'm a little sad (it was SO SAD as we had to leave her in the trailer overnight in our driveway rather than try to catch and load her again first thing in the morning... she just kept sniffing at me, and she was eerily quiet)... In other news... if you know of anyone selling a stand up freezer...
I'll be ready for the next AMAW challenge, that's for sure.
QOTD: So hard... I have people talking to me all the time about their weight, and what diet should they try. I always tell them to read the ORIGINAL Atkins book, published in the '70's. It was before the corporate side took over, and the science behind Low Carb is well thought out in that book. I was one of the Great Atkins Losers about 12 years ago (well OK, I got down to 180)... and even kept it off for a couple of years. The problem with any diet I tried was staying on course... sigh. I hope to NOT do that with my surgery! Which is why, if you see me missing for a week or more, please stalk me on Facebook and ask me where my accountability is!
No need for a new picture... just more of the same...
B: 2.7 ounces of steak
L: 3oz of grilled bologna
D: Ugh, up in the air again because I have to show a house at 5... MEAT. That I know is a certainty.
Weight this morning... 157.2... up .2 ounces, but not sweating that... Miralax taken this morning in my water! Woot woot!

Thanks :) We all knew this is where she'd end up... but we had a plan in place... and it included bringing home a sweet baby calf before we took her to the processor... and it also included her A LOT bigger! LOL The other cows at the processor this morning were 1200-1300lbs, and then there's little Filet, I'm sure standing there looking at the other cows wondering what she was doing there! LOL

The grilled bologna is getting to me. Is it just grilled bologna like in bologna slices? I used to love me some bologna sandwiches. Not sure it will be the same without the squishy white bread, but...
And regarding Filet. I am in complete denial that steak comes from living animals. I can buy a steak but the one time we bought part of a cow I could not eat it. My neighbor's kids used to get attached to the calves they had so they named one Hamburger. Did not help things. Hamburger is now a full grown cow with very attached grown children.
Man, I sure did used to love me some fried bologna sandwiches. I'm guessing that you could fry it in a skillet, but her pictures yesterday looked like she put them on the propane grill....yumm!

So, the bologna I used isn't that pre-sliced Oscar Meyer stuff...This was a 'log' of bologna, all beef, Kretschmar brand, I believe. I sliced it thicker than the packaged kind, so it tastes better (to me)...
But yes, I grilled it!
OK, so I usually fry it in a pan, but since the grill was up and going with all the other meat, I just threw it on there... It was really good, I had it for lunch today!
(and I used to love fried bologna on squishy white bread, with mayo!)

It helps when your husband has a good grip on reality, and keeps you grounded...
I think I'll be OK eating her because she will come to us wrapped into packages with names on it like Tenderloin, Filet, Ribeye, and London Broil... Mmmmmmm.....
(And I'd be lying if I said that tonight when I go to feed everyone, that I won't be sad knowing she's not there to have her dinner too )
