How nice you go out for tea with your BFF after she works nights, that is cool. But I hear you on the icy driveway, you were sliding up and I was sliding down!! Brutal right!  I would be nervous as well if you have a bad knee and a replaced knee, so you be extra careful!!

Yes all this rain has got me feeling blah, enough already right!

I am going to find out tomorrow about what the Heart program offers in terms of nutrition plan or visits with a dietitian, thanks for the idea.

Great menu, you are kicking butt on CAMAW, keep up the great work, looking forward to your menu tomorrow for Day 3!

Just warm and wet here. It's going to rain all week and stay in the high 70's.

QOTD: I know exactly how you feel about your dad. Obesity seems to be everywhere! I have people asking for my advise on loosing weight but continue to show up with McDonalds breakfast every day! I know what they are going through! The guilt of knowing what they should be doing probably drove them straight to the bad food. Oh that viscous cycle! With that being said, would it be out of line to suggest to someone to see a psych doctor or therapist about weight issues? I'm not saying just anybody but someone close. I try to explain to everyone that it all starts with our head. I know that has been my biggest battle. Maybe that is the missing link in successful weightloss for "normies"??

My brother concerns me. He's always been heavy (MO) and can diet and drop weight like a champ. The volume he looses in such a short amount of time would make you think he had surgery but he can also gain it back almost overnight. I worry so much about him because he has a lot of health issues like blood pressure, irregular heart beat (or something like that) high cholesterol, something with his thyroid. We looked into WLS together 10 years ago and when he decided against it he talked me out of doing it too. He actually feels bad about that now but is so happy for my progress. He went and talked to his primary care Doctor a couple of days ago and told the Doctor about me and the sleeve. He kind of expected the Doctor to talk VSG down but he told my brother I did the right thing and he should look into it too!!! He was shocked and called me right a way to tell me what the Doc said and that he is seriously thinking about WLS. He said that he's going to give himself until this summer to make his final decision. He's a principal so he can't do anything until the summer anyway. I really hope he decides to get WLS!

Thanks Rachel for all your thoughts and suggestions and although I think they are great ideas and I will suggest them to my Mom & Dad I know my Dad and he will dismiss a therapist and look at me like I am crazy.  He will just "talk to my Mom about it," ya that is totally the blind leading the blind there...

Thanks for sharing the story about your brother, I am so glad he is ready to do this for himself, but that's just it, "he is ready now."  That is wonderful news!

Awesome menu, you are also doing really really well and I can't wait to see what you have on your menu for Day 3!

Morning everyone! Take care you yourself Daisy!

QOTD: So I totally get the 'awkward' place of see seeing someone struggle with their weight now. Its like watching a former you-- and you want to jump and scream and say do X, Do Y, but you also know it may not be heard. I'm dealing with this with my son to a small degree. He is 12, a little over the weight range for his age- but nothing of concern. I stress to him that is he maintains his weight, eats better and adds activity he'll be fine. But he wants the muscles and abs of a body builder- and for it to happen overnight with minimal effert :-) He eats a carb based diet- and we know how helpful that is to a person. He asks for my input- but doesn't listen-- its driving me batty. I'm really just trying to follow his lead- with gentle nudges from me.

Airfryer review: I bought the Nuwave AirFryer at the recommendation of happyteacher. Yesterday I heated frozen egg rolls for my son- they came out perfect- crunchy outside, warm inside- but not that soppy/greasy feel from when you buy an egg roll from the Chinese store that has been fried. Then we made grilled cheese in it-- again it game out crunchy- which is not the effect you get when you make grilled cheese on the stove. One son liked it crunchy- they other preferred the pan grilled cheese method. I'd use a bit more butter on the bread next time to make it a tad more moist in the air fryer. Then we made French Fries-- frozen crinkle cuts. We cooked them for 12 minutes and they were darker than my son prefers, so I told him to cut back to 9 minutes next time. But they were awesome, hot, crunchy- without that heavy/soppy/greasy feeling. You can cook a lot more in it then I realized. But I'm sure it'll be mostly used for convenience foods for the kids. It definitely a different outcome then a convection toaster oven (which I also bought this weekend). They don't get as crispy-- or if it does- it would take twice as long.

20 months out- 191.8 today

M1: 2 scrambled egg w/ cheese, 3 turkey sausage

M2: Chicken/ham/cheese in a lettuce wrap

M3: 1.5 oz Tuna, boiled egg, cheese, 1oz cashews

M4? I just realized I have a work thing tonight so I own't be home till after 8... Ugh! If I can hold out I'll eat sauteed shrimp @ home- otherwise I ll grab something out.

thanks Peach for your well wishes.  You really hit the nail on the head with: "Its like watching a former you-- and you want to jump and scream and say do X, Do Y, but you also know it may not be heard." YES!! Exactly!!!  You can only guide your son with as you said "gentle nudges" fingers crossed!

Thanks for the recommendation on the air fryer... hmmm tell me if you or your son ends up doing chicken wings in it and how they turn out, my hubby is a chicken wing nut and loves them, that would be a good purchase if it comes out good.

I like your menu and late mtgs suck!

Good morning DD2 and crew!  How the heck do you get your pics so small?  Mine are gigantic.

QOTD:  boy.  I failed at EVERY diet I ever was on.  Many times.  This is the only thing that has wver worked.  My sister (who is MO) says all the time now... "boy you sure are brave.  I could never give up food..." and there you have it.  Some people just do not have the drive, and it is sad.

B:  Premier Protein chocolate, coffee

L:  2 oz Lox, 1 oz brie

D:  Tuna Creations Spicy Buffalo with mayo

S:  1 oz beef jerky, Siggi blueberry

Totals:  662 calories 91 protein 22 carbs 23 fat

So full yesterday!  Looking forward to today... but it is a-mazing how I noticed I wanted to pop a grape or blueberry in my mouth when fixing kids meals.  I had to focus on everything I touched to make sure I did not put it in my mouth.  Yikes.

I understand what you're saying about your sister.  I have a friend who said almost the exact same thing to me!  I guess when you make up your mind, and you are ready...that's that!!!

I am so curious about the buffalo style tuna.  I like buffalo sauce -- is it good?  Super spicy?  (I like hot things) --

No clue, it is my first time trying it.  Some here rave about it, and right before I had WLS I bought one of every kind of tuna packet.  Then realized that post-surgery I hated tuna ;0.  trying it again today, mostly because I was running so late I did not have time for anything else!  But will let you know how it goes.
