What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers? DAY 2 of AMAW/CAMAW
I just heard about Mississippi pot roast over the holidays! It was so good! Apparently it was the NYT most requested recipe of the year or something!
Thanks for the reminder!

thanks for sharing about your sisters & your mom, its truly heart breaking right! Thrilled for your baby sister as she starts the process for WLS, that is very exciting! And you are right just me wanting this for my Dad does not make him want it for himself, so true!
Great menu! Your wild salmon filet sounds delish, I love salmon. Thanks so much for posting the Mississippi pot roast, that looks yummy but can't believe your family ate it all on you, bummer!! LOL
Keep up the great work, looking forward to your menu tomorrow!
Good morning! It sounds like those of you on the challenge are doing well. I'll do it next time! 6 days post-op from PS today and feeling pretty good. Only took Tylenol twice yesterday and don't need it this morning.
QOTD: I always did best with WW, but would lose focus and slide down the slippery carb slope. I think it is more protein-forward now? It does seem logical that high-protein would still work best for everyone whether they have had WLS or not. It is tough when your parents are struggling and the roles reverse so you become the caregiver.
Still on soft foods, but hoping that will ease up by tomorrow. I'm at the point where I REALLY want to chew something, which I remember post WLS:
B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese
L: tuna melt (very mushed tuna with some seasonings and melted cheese) - thanks for the idea JB!
D: last serving of ricotta bake
S: egg crepe with sweetened ricotta (someone posted making an egg crepe yesterday, so I'm trying it - thank you!), cheese sticks

Thank you! I see the surgeon this afternoon and am hoping the head-bra will be off during the day after that. Neck and jowl skin looking good, but still lots of face swelling and discoloration. TT is bothering me less than face...

Well I hope you lose the bra too! I'm sure the swelling will stick around, and you will notice the lasting effects more than anyone else... I want you to heal up so you'll post a picture so I can see! LOL

glad your recovery is going so well Liz. Did you get the bandages off?
And you hit the nail on the head, its so hard that I am now the caregiver to my folks, I am struggling with this a bit.
Yes being able to "chew" something post surgery was a big deal, yay for getting to the next stage LOL Keep up the great work!
