feel better soon Karen! So glad to hear that your son has lost 60 lbs, how wonderful!
Good morning guys!
I made it through CAMAW day one! I don't know about the rest of you but I'm pretty sure some of the draggy feeling I had yesterday was because my body was like...my carrrrrbs precioussssss, we wants them. I prevailed in the end and made it through the day without deviating from the plan.
QOTD: I've watched my FIL struggle with his weight since I met him. He's SMO...if I had to guess he's somewhere between 400-500lbs and he's pretty much given up on losing weight. He's struggled his entire life and I know it makes my hubby sad to see his dad like this, he barely leaves the house anymore. FIL recently told him that he's given up on losing any weight, he's just going to enjoy food the way he wants for the remainder of his life...however long that is. Hubby's brother offered to pay for WLS for him a few years ago, but he declined....I think he thinks he wouldn't be able to stick with it, and that he's too old (I think he's 67). I've talked to him at length about my weight, and upcoming surgery, not to try and convince him...but because he's easy to talk to about that sort of thing, he's supportive even if it's not for him.
MENU:
This is from yesterday - and for whatever reason my phone wasn't cooperating so this will just have to be sans pictures
B: Babybel cheese, Protein Shake, Coffee with a miralax kicker
S: 3 slices Bacon
L: 1/2 container Fage Yogurt, 3 oz pot roast
S: sliced ham w/cream cheese
D: Protein Shake, Hardboiled eggs, string cheese
L: Tea, Water
I feel like I ate more yesterday than I normally do...I think because I was craving carbs...and I just gave my body more protein instead.
Have a great day everyone!
Kelsey

Good Morning All. Ice storm is continuing here today. Have the day off work but have lots of errands that need to be done out and about. Hope for a little thaw if I wait until closer to noon to head out. So yesterday's menu did change a little as I find it often does so I will stick with posting what I had the day before.
Monday's Menu:
B: coffee and a hunters sausage stick
L: swiss bunless burger patty
D: salami and cheese rolls
S: pork rinds

hope you got all your errands done and the ice storm didn't hit too bad. Good menu! Keep up the great work! Looking forward to your menu tomorrow!
QOTD: I know how you feel. I have 2 younger sisters that I love dearly. They are both SMO and they both know they need to lose weight to be healthy. Our mother died 2 1/2 years ago due to complications from diabetes and atherosclerosis. She had years to change her lifestyle but refused. She would often joke that "everyone has to die of something". She was 61.
Now, my sisters and I have handled her passing differently. One of them buried herself in work and the other buried herself in food. (Obviously, I decided to get healthy and started on the WLS path to wellness) Neither of them is willing to commit to changing their eating habits. They say they could never live a life without X food or X drink again. Now to be fair, I never reached their level of obesity, but I would have if I hadn't been on a constant diet for most of my adult life. I'm so happy that my baby sister is going to a WLS new patient seminar in March, but her wife is so against it, I'm afraid she'll talk her out of it. And no matter how much it hurts, I can't tell her to ignore her wife. (Remember my family of saboteurs? I ignore them and do what's best for me!)
My point is, I have been there and I know that wanting them to get healthy won't make them want it, too.

Daisy, answer to your question --
Mississippi Pot Roast
Ingredients
- (3-4 pound) roast, I used chuck roast
- One stick butter
- 1 package au jus gravy mix
- 1 package Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix (dry)
- Pepperoncini peppers, I used 5
Place it all in a slow cooker, I put mine on medium low for 10 hours. It smells amazing and tastes even better. Yumm!
-sadface- My family loved it so much, I have no leftovers for meat week. JERKS!
