What's on your menu today (Monday) RNYers - START OF AMAW/CAMAW!
I'm cheering you all on from the sidelines but pass on AMAW as I have issues with constipation and my weight is right where it needs to be right now. Lily and I got our 3.2 miles in early today and had a nice brisk walk. Post op 4 years 4.5 months and weight at 117.2 today. Here's the eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c chili D 31/2 oz strip steak with 1/2 c sweet potatoes S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices that move you one step closer to your goal!
Sometimes I look at people's menus and say "I want to eat their menu for a day" Just to see what it is like.... So curious about the steel cut oats, since they take awhile to cook... Do you cook a batch at the beginning of the week and just reheat? Or cook daily? Brand? method?... I want the goods on it, because I've tried and never liked them....

I make them in my crockpot though I've not tried with peanut butter. They come out great! I put the oatmeal and water in a glass bowl and set the bowl in the crockpot. Then I add water in the crock (like between the crock and the bowl, if that makes sense). Cook in lowest setting overnight.

I cook a batch for the week and reheat 1/2 c each morning to eat with peanut butter and protein powder. Sometimes I add 1/2 T of no sugar added apple butter, peach butter or pumpkin butter. I use Quaker brand steel cut oats (not the quick cook ones as the texture is not quite the same) that I get at Walmart.

I am so excited for my AMAW!! My family is really supportive. Here is my plan for today.
B- 2 ounces dungeness crab ( so yummy)
L- 2 ounces peppered turkey breast
D- grilled pork loin with hot mustard
S- more pork loin with hot mustard
Lots of water and 1 cup of black coffee with miralax in it. I ordered iron and calcium vitamin patches. I am excited. I can't seem to gage down the calcium citrate from unjury that I ordered. They are just to tart and make my jaw hurt. I will update later with pictures and my totals. I was 229.6 today. I see my surgeon in 2 weeks. I am hoping to be 220 by then. I have been averaging 3.5 lbs a week weight loss, so its possible.
Have a great day everyone!!
