What's on your Sunday menu, RNYers?
my cousin (who has severe diabetes) was brought out of her induced coma a couple of days ago and keeps getting better by the minute. I swear the eight hours or so hours we were at the hospital made a huge difference -she looked infinitely better when we left last night than she did when I got here. And today - even better. She looks like herself and was discussing politics with me earlier (she's sleeping now)
I sprained my ankle at the hospital yesterday (ankle twisted under me - and I was wearing some thick-soled Dansko clogs). At least it was my left ankle so I can still drive (at least I think so - my cousin (sister of the sick one) has been driving us around). And now there's some ice storm coming after midnight, so I'll have to leave to go home later on today instead of tomorrow as planned. Originally it was supposed to warm up enough tomorrow so the freezing rain would change over to regular rain, but now it's not supposed to get as warm as they thought, so it'll be freezing rain all day. Nope - not doing it. So I'll leave this afternoon :-(
QOTD: I'm on my laptop way WAY more than I'm comfortable with. Reading these (and other) boards, reading the news, looking for recipes, looking up all kinds of crap. I really need to find something else to do when I'm bored - I feel like staring at a freaking computer screen all day is a huge waste of a life!!!
19 months out
B: Chobani yogurt
S: coffee with half & half, double protein shake
L: Greek yogurt, raw veggies with ranch dip (from the hospital cafeteria - had this last night for dinner and can't wait to have it again today!)
D: probably a protein bar since I'll be on the road
may have a small bag of mixed nuts or some Greek yogurt later if I can afford the calories (should be able to...)
exercise: not today for sure. Maybe not for a few days since i have this bum ankle to contend with
Good morning. First full day out of the hospital. Drank about 90 mls of premier protein this morning- I think that's 3 oz. We went to church and now I'm wiped. Heading home to bed. More premier protein for lunch or maybe some apple sauce or oatmeal. And the same for supper. Sipping a lot. I'm feeling very thirsty most of the time.
QOTD: my phone is my go to for boredom. Even if I read I use my phone. Ever since I found the overdrive app and I'm able to download library books for free I love reading on my phone. I know how to crochet and can do basic knitting but I've been dealing with tennis elbow for about 2 years and those motions really aggravate it.
Feeling good. We aren't at home yet. We are at DH's cousin's house- our home away from home. They are 30 minutes from the hospital so thought it was a good plan to stay her for the weekend. We will head home tonight. We live about an hour from here so 90 minutes from the hospital.
