I could have written Kathryn's post, exactly. I've lost almost 300 pounds, so of course I have extra skin. But I know those who have lost only a third of what I did, but have three times as much extra skin. I'm pretty lucky. But I'll never be an underwear model.

I also did nothing. No extra exercising, special garments, creams, or lotions. There are no magic solutions. Luck, resignation, or plastic surgery are the three options.

Paradoxically, despite your massive weight loss in comparison to mine -- due to our differences in height -- we started at nearly identical BMIs and are currently at the same BMI.

We've established that neither of us are gym hounds nor into special creams/garments -- but another thing that we have in common is our diet -- I don't know too many others here that are almost wholly meatatarians.  It would be interesting to see if there isn't some correlation in the protein source/diet and skin/body satisfaction at 3+ years without plastics.

Hmmm. It could be proof that bacon is magical. Or maybe lotions do work -- if taken internally. All that dietary fat HAS kept my coat nice and shiny. Maybe it helped the skin, too.

Do you eat veggies at all?

Truthfully, very few.  Additionally, I avoid any vegetable that grows under the ground.  The vegetables I eat most often would be spinach, leaf lettuce, peppers, broccoli, and zucchini.

I eat fewer fruits.  I avoid all high sugar fruits like oranges and pears.  I will eat tomatoes, most berries and a slice or two of apples.  I also use lemons or limes for taste.

Yes! This is my strategy as well and I find it manages my cravings for high-glycemic foods really well. Keeps me nice and level.

Bacon FTW!
