Tricalcium Phosphate good or bad
Found this site last night and signed up, this is my first post. I am struggling with food choices and already reading the what is everyone eating is helping my will power. I had RNY in July and I have been taking Vitafusion Calcium chewables since that point. I reading more about it recently it looks like I should be taking citrate version instead. Any comments or thoughts.
What did your dietician/surgeon recommend? Mine recommended calcium citrate...I started out taking citrical and then switched to chewable now that I'm getting closer to surgery (and because I loathe the horse pills)

I'd be really leery about trying something new. I've never seen exactly what kind of calcium is in that seaweed-based stuff. It's their secret ingredient, and they don't specify. And you have absolutely no way of knowing if it's easily absorbed by us after WLS. Many things aren't. Stick to calcium citrate. It's easy to find, and it's been proven to work.

I have to agree with Grim. I wouldn't take the word of a health food clerk over my bariatric doctor.
