just a drive-by for now since I have an appt with my new primary care physician this morning (I hope I like her!!). I'm still in town but may leave for Iowa after my appt - I'm waiting for a call from my cousin, whose sister's the one who's in a diabetic coma. I talked to Chris last night. She said Kelly had improved quite a bit since Wednesday - she's still in a coma, but it's induced now (before, it was a natural coma). They're inducing it because she'd be in a lot of pain if she was conscious. They'll try bringing her out in a couple of days. There's a lot of brain activity and she can breathe on her own, so those are good signs. There could be some brain damage, though - they'll know when she comes out of the coma. I think given the choice, Chris would rather have me there when they bring Kelly out of the coma in case it's bad news (and I can understand that) - because right now, she said, we would just be at the hospital all day staring at a sleeping Kelly with all the machines hooked up to her. But I'm happy to go at any time - or both. But we'll see what she says and what she'd prefer. So I'm sort of in limbo right now...
QOTD: my standard answer to the weight loss question is "over 100 lbs". Most people are satisfied with that because it sounds like a lot (and it is!). I never tell anyone how much I really lost, even my husband. I don't want them figuring out what my starting weight must have been!
19 months out
B: homemade Greek pumpkin yogurt (added 2 T of oats and soaked overnight)
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: probably African chickpea/spinach soup and a hard boiled egg or two
D: if I'm here, leftover cassoulet (again!). If I'm in Iowa, something bariatric-friendly
probably another Greek yogurt later on

Sending good thoughts to the family today!
Your answer for not saying how much you lost totally resonated. People are better at math than we give them credit for. I can see people doing the calculations in their head--to figure out how much I weighed before...and now. No thanks!
