I'm 8 months post-op and I normally eat 2 or 3 meals and 1 or 2 snacks daily.
My meals are approximately 2-3 oz of dense protein. I might add in a spoonful of veggie with dinner, but not always. My snacks are greek yogurt, cashews, or cheese. I also drink 1-2 premier protein shakes daily. At least 1, but some days 2 are needed to meet protein goals. Also, I don't count them as meals, I count them as liquid. (I'm 10 pounds from goal and desperately trying to maintain what muscle I have left)
I started to feel hunger and the "full"sensation returned around 5 months.
Sadly, I'm also able to eat a mountain of chips, cookies, crackers, popcorn, etc... I do not, but I know I could.

Like Grim,I'm 41/2 years out. I don't know how much I could eat because I measure out 4 ounces of dense protein and no more than 1/2 c non starchy veggies per meal. If able, I eat my measured portion but never more. I never worry about whether I'm full or not just stop when my measured amount is gone. Im certain I could eat more especially carbs but I don't. I don't intend to be obese again and if I eat til I'm full like I used to I'll end up with the same results as before--a miserable obese me.
I am 3 years out. I can only eat 1/2-1 cup of food. If I eat more, I get sick. It does take me almost 30 minutes to eat. If I rush, I get sick. I tend to eat a bite or 2 and then do something and eat more later. I do snack on protein bars. Reading that others can eat a regular meal gives me hope. I would love to eat more and not have to worry if my 4th bite of food will make me sick. Sometimes, I can't finish a small protein bar because it fills me up and I will get sick.
I'm barely able to consume 1/2 cup of chicken purée. Stopped the dairy ( cottage cheese, yogurt, very little kefir) as it was blowing up my blood sugar. Still supplementing with premier protein shakes and other brands. For fun I purée a hard boiled egg into the chicken mess. I need some variety and ideas.

I will be 12 years out in April. I have always eaten small meals since I had surgery and always stop before I get full. For example I had for dinner one individual serving size naan pizza with onions and peppers and cheese, I could not fini**** all. I eat probably a cup to a cup in a half of solid food. My husband had rny in 2014 and can eat probably double what I can but he lets himself get full something I refuse to do. I have maintained my goal weigh all these years, still wearing jeans I bought ten years ago. If I catch myself eating too much crap like during Christmas and think I am up a few pounds I cut back on calories until I am back to my sweet spot. I am headed to India soon, not sure about the food there so I am bringing protein bars.
