Weight Loss
i had my surgery on 12/14/16 and have lost 32lbs since 12/4/16 when I started my pre-surgical diet. I only weigh myself once weekly. I feel as if my weight oss has slowed down already. Can anyone please share you weight loss results with me? I am 4 weeks postop today. Signed up at a gym and will be worth with a personal trainer two days a week. Trying not to be negative and maybe I am expecting too much. Any comments appreciated.
Chill out. After the post-surgery period, expect a few pounds a week sustained weight loss. Your dr should be telling you this.

Weight loss will absolutely slow over time. You have less to lose, you lose slower.
32 pounds in 5 weeks is faster than I ever lost, and I'll bet I lost more than you weigh right now.
Follow your plan. Don't drive yourself crazy.

You are expecting too much. And if you compare yourselves to others (which yo shouldn't; do because we are built differently and have different instructions plans from our surgical teams) you'll only be further disappointed. Focus on learning your body's patterns and rates of loss.

My surgery was Dec 21st and since I started Optifast on Dec 7th I have lost 21 pounds. I too was expecting more but if I'm honest with myself I've never lost 21 pounds in just a few weeks. I'm doing what everyone else suggested. drink up and hit my protein target and stay low carb and with time I will get there too :)
I've never lost 30 lbs in a month (very few people drop that much in a month, to be honest), and I've lost over 200 lbs. The other posters are right - we're all different and our rates of weight loss are going to be different. Hard work and commitment will get you to where you want to go - not your rate of weight loss. Besides, you don't have much control over that - you just have control over how committed you are. Just be patient, stick to your plan, and the weight will come off.
Weight loss fluctuates week by week and month by month... and you will have stalls that drive you crazy.... This is life now, so set mini goals and keep pushing forward. Even though I missed the mark on most of my mini-goals by a pound or two- they were usually date related - Lose X amount by next Doctor's Appointment, lose X amount this month etc...still kept me motivated. It was too hard to think about the massive amount of weight I had to lose....so mini goals worked...
Sometimes things will be going slow and Bam! you will lose 7lbs in a week or something, and you will be, How did that happen I didn't do anything different???? {scratches head}
