Patches ON!

Question for patch users:  I have iron and calcium.  The package said put them on a mostly hairless spot, so I have one on each arm below my shoulder.  Does not say how long to leave them on, but I think someone said they put theirs on in the morning and leave them on for 8 hours.  Anything else?  Can I then take it off before bed?  And then just toss it in the trash?  How many can I wear at once?  I am liking this new method...

I'm weird, because I just leave mine on until the next morning... but I don't have any kind of skin reaction to them...

I put mine on my shoulder blades... I use three a day... (if I can't see them, I'm happier LOL)

Multi, Calcium, and Iron

My numbers were great at my last appointment, and I had been on them almost 3 months then. I'll have another check up in February.

Pam, do you just do the patch for D3?  I take 5,000 ius a day of D3, this patch has 2,000.  Not sure if I should just stop taking D3 pills, or take a lower amount.

I was taking more D3... and you just reminded me that I stopped doing that... It wouldn't hurt to start that back up.

I used to have them on my desk and I'd just pop a couple during the day... my D3 was soooo low at one point, but this last time it was in a really good place. I've gotten complacent.

How long after surgery can you use these?? I asked my nut about them and she said that she doesn't recommend them because some vitamins cannot be absorbed through the skin. This was the same lady that told me to eat canned peaches post op. I was thinking of getting the iron one. I don't want to get low.

I listened to my NUT the first time when she said there was not enough data on the patches.  But my iron levels are dropping and now at the low end of low, and because I have such a hard time with timing on calcium, dairy and iron, I decided to try them.  Several vets on this forum have had GREAT success with them.  I just started today.  I would look at the other advice your NUT gave you and treat this advice the same... just saying.  We have to be our own advocates.

My doctor told me they won't absorb either... then he read my blood results to me, and they were all great. I asked him then if I should stop the patch, and he told me to keep going and that "we'd keep an eye on it"...

I think I'm his guinea pig test patient

I have a friend that went to a different hospital than me, and they started her off on the patches. So I don't know if there is a time that it's "too soon".

My doctor didn't recommend them either, but the bariatric chewables I just couldn't get down after surgery. It was either the patch or have deficits. I use the multi, iron and calcium/D combo. I've bought the B complex in the past too, but it gets pricey to get them all, so the first 3 right now...

I put mine on in the AM then take it off before bed, that's just when I remember.

As far as not absorbing them through the skin, I call bull**** on that. There are vits which are absorbed in the gut, but we would NOT absorb those as well now, which is what makes the transdermal delivery system so beautiful.

Ive been using mine almost a month now. I put them on my lower tummy because they seem to come off most other places. I put them on in the am after my shower and take them off before my shower the next morning. Im loving them. No more nausea from the vitamins.
