I still live in the same neighborhood as I did growing up. I'm in the same house too!! Of course it's not the same. We had what we would call block parties. They guys would BBQ and the wives would make a side and bring lawn charis. Us kids would have water balloon wars. We didn't have to worry about being quiet because everyone was at the party! We hang out often with our close neighbors and my Dad lives 2 houses down so I love it.
The quiet was so none of the parents would suddenly realize it was past bedtime and reel the kids in! One of those "kids" just bought one of the houses in our part of that neighborhood so her kids will be carrying on.

We too pull our dogs in right away if they start to bark at really late, i.e. after 11pm or really early i.e. before 6am because my dogs are big and they can BARK so I totally get you on that.
Your previous home and neighbourhood sounds awesome, reminds me soooooo much of where I grew up, like almost exactly! My parents are still best friends with the people who lived beside us, they are all in their early 70s now, live in different locations but get together monthly at each others homes for dinner & cards. It was a great upbringing for me & my sister when we were kids.

Good Morning everyone! Well the snow finally hit here! And still coming down but news is saying will switch to rain soon. What a mess it will be!! QOTD: Our neighbors are all mostly older couples and have not had many if any issues so far. We feel lucky so far to live in a very quiet secluded neighborhood and have nice neighbors who walk by daily and give a wave as they pass by :)
