Thank you Kim! I am going to try yours/Rocky's trick!
I take it almost every day. It really depends on how things are 'going'... if I skip a day or two, and then don't 'go', then I'll pick it right back up. I put a capful in my morning travel glass of water... I drink it on the way to work. I probably average 3-4 times a week
I also have found that I can buy the SAMS brand (3 bottle pack) and it's cheaper. I'd do Costco if we had one in OKC...

I am 5 months out and I just went thru 2 weeks of constipation, it was horrible, I do Miralax in the morning and Milk of Magnesia at night ( per my Dr) for the next couple of weeks, then try it out and just do the Miralax daily, at this point I can't eat enough to get enough fiber in so this is what's needed!

I forget when, but there was a point that I no longer needed to take anything. It was before the end of the first year, but I don't know exactly.
I'm pretty sure you do low or no fat everything, even cheese. Stop that. Fat is your friend. Fat makes going easier. Fat is yummy, and satiating. I don't do low fat anything.

I have ALWAYS had problems going to the bathroom, even was I was a little kid. Its been a lifelong problem for me and it sucks!!! I have envied people who can "go" daily or several times a day, that just astounds me ha ha ha
Since surgery in the first year my Centre was telling us to use stool softeners, they only worked for me occasionally. My first 18 months post surgery was a constant battle of trying to stay on top of not being able to go, it was really horrible. I then saw a post here on OH about people using Miralax. I happen to be in the USA on vacation and went to the local Walmart or Target and bought a bottle and started using it and like most people on here say IT WAS LIFE CHANGING!!! OMG I was suddenly going "daily". This literally has never happened in my whole entire life. So I stocked up, literally bought like 6 x-large bottles and took them home with me. When I got back to Canada I googled it and its the same product but called "Restoralax" up here in Canada, I don't know why but okay. So I have tried the no name brand and it did not work for me, I have to stick to the name brand and I get mine at Walmart or Costco.
I use it DAILY, it took a few days to start to work when I first started using it, but since then I will not go a day without it. I have a friend who has not had WLS and she has problems going to the bathroom, I told her about the Miralax/Restoralax and she uses it now as well and thinks its the best thing ever invented and her family doctor totally agrees that its safe and an excellent product.
Newbies out there, don't let the "not going" become a problem. Make sure you read what others have said they are using and do, personally I will be buying stocks in Miralax/Restoralax for the rest of my life ha ha
Good luck!

I'm another daily Miralax user. I use the cheaper generic brand - same contents. Every now and then I will skip a day but not very often and if I do skip I usually don't "go." I asked my surgeon at my 6 mo post-op visit and he said that it's fine to use on a regular basis. He stressed that constipation is common post RNY and the consequences can be very severe.
