Patch question...
Question... I bought the iron patch. Do I need to take vitamin C when I put it on? And I also bought the D3/calcium patch... can I wear the iron patch and the calcium patch at the same time? And can I still eat dairy? Because my diet is two thirds yogurt ;)
Most of the caveats on vitamins are because of how they are absorbed in the intestinal tract. Because the patch is absorbed directly into the bloodstream, the same rules don't apply. I wear my patches at the same time.

I am new to the whole patch idea but go to PatchMD.com. I just ordered the two patches because I cannot get my iron and calcium in, and have a low ferritin level. They have lots of patches, though. I take a multi, B12, magnesium all by pill... those are easier to get in than the calcium and iron which have all those stupid rules ;)
Do people typically start out with chewables and move to the patch later? I actually asked my RD about the patches (because the timing on the iron/calcium is annoying) and she said they didn't know enough about them yet because they were still waiting on FDA approval or something...it was a couple months ago so I don't remember exactly what she said, but that was the jist.
I'm definitely interested in patches vs. gagging down berry flavored chalk every day

My NUT also said not enough data to justify using patches. But the timing is making it so difficult that I decided to do it anyway after my ferritin level came back at the bottom of the range. Several vets on here who have had great success with them. And I also hate choking down my calcium chews and the calories that accompany them.
I have issues with some adhesives so I just ordered a box of the sleep patches (I have an awful time sleeping so I figured it was worth trying while I test whether or not the adhesives bother me). I've seen several long-time RNYers say good things about them, and i'd far rather put a patch on each day than have to try and remember to time when to take my chalkypucks

I'm happy to report that I have had no issues with the adhesive on the sleep patch....and it's worked so well that I went ahead and ordered the rest of the patches I'll need :)
