What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?
There's nothing better than snow falling and not needing to be anywhere. Enjoying your lazy snow day. It's supposed to snow here but only2-3". Since I ran last night, I'll either work out at home or go to the gym tonight. I woke with a pain in my right elbow it hurts to move or even grasp something firmly with my hand. Even lifting the spoon to my mouth to eat hurts. I don't recall hitting it anywhere, I initially thought thought I slept on it wrong-- but if that were the case it should feel better by now. if it continues through tomorrow I'll get an X-ray at urgent care.
Qotd: hands down, I'm rocking exercise. 4x a week faithfully. I love my routine and love how it's transformed my body and health. It's my me time- I don't need a workout buddy. Not drinking calories is the other thing I'm rocking. It was a huge problem for me pre-op haven't had soda or juice in over 2 years now.

I'm with you on the me time and not needing a workout buddy. I prefer to work out alone, it's my thing. Some people think its weird!

no precip out here in the Upper Midwest, but we're still dealing with frigid temperatures. Right now it's sunny and a blistering -1. Supposed to make it up to the teens today, though, which is an improvement over the last two days. Temps are supposed to finally break on Monday. Thank God. I don't usually mind cold weather, but this is insane.
QOTD: taking vitamins and logging my food intake. Even before surgery, I tracked my food. Even long before surgery - as in I have spiral notebooks from the 80s and 90's with my food intake. This just documents the fact I have been on diets most of my adult life!

S: coffee with half & half, SF protein latte
L: two hard-boiled eggs, coleslaw made with sesame-miso sauce
D: leftover cassoulet
S: probably another Greek yogurt in the evening
exercise - I lounged around too much this morning and missed two classes I was thinking of attending - a yoga class and a group strength-training class - so I'll go over to the Y later - maybe do the weight machines

Well....snow has come to NC, and what we got is pretty laughable - it's certainly not the 5-7 inches they were predicting, I'm going to put some pics on the bottom of my post to show you. Even though this is barely a dusting of snow and mostly ice we'll still be staying inside because people are crazy. I just saw that I'm scheduled to get two packages today and I'm amazed the package services are even running today! I admit I'm a bit jealous of you guys up north who are getting the lovely fluffy stuff, I have a pretty disappointed kiddo who, being a southern boy, doesn't really understand the difference yet. We'll probably end up outside for a bit playing in the...slush/snow/sleet/ice because that's what you do for love! I was a rock-star sticking to my menu yesterday....but I didn't drink enough water and missed some of my vitamins.
QOTD: I'm a pre-op (between-op?) so I'm definitely interested in your answers to this :)
Menu:
B - Greek yogurt with berry compote and a little splenda, coffee
S - ricotta egg bake muffins
L - protein shake
S - string cheese, apple
D - TBD.....maybe soup, it's cold outside!

It snowed some here in Michigan last night but its still to cold for my liking.
I guess I'm coming down with a cold, very congested today.
QOTD I rock at taking my vitamins and drinking enough water even when im sick. For the first 2 years i exercised at least 5 times a week and gotten away from it. Ive been having some problems with binge eating on sweets and some depression. But I can say i havent binge eat over a week. Maybe the depression meds are helping. Now i just have to get back into my exercise.
Im currently drinking my 2nd large coffee with fairlife milk and truvia and water.
B egg whites ham and cheese omelet and string cheese
L hamburger, baby carrots and red pepper
D pork loin and broccoli tots
S Greek yogurt, turkey sausage snack sticks and apple

As a fellow Michigander, I HEAR you!! We are use to snow, cold and all kinds of bad weather every five minutes but this cold is unbearable!!!!!
Well you all know what's on my menu today. I put some coffee in the fridge last night to mix my optifast with. So the first 2 shakes will be that. I will have beef broth with my supper shake - in addition to lol, not together. My hubby was working last night so I cooked a pot roast for the kids. It was a rump roast and I did it in the instant pot. I think it could have used more liquid and more cooking time but according to them it was good.
Im down 2.6 lbs from yesterday, and 4.2 since starting opti. 284.4 today.

QOTD: having food that is appropriate at all times... i have almonds in the car, along with water, I have a protein bar in case I get stuck somewhere. I have a protein shake in the trunk and in my drawer at work. My goal is never to need to stop for fast food, which was my complete downfall before rny... every trip in the car was an excuse to stop somewhere for a snack. It is getting so much easier to plan my day... and I see now why people tend to post the same menu day after day. Once you find your groove, life is easier.

Totals: 647 calories 104 protein 26 carbs 12 fat
