Good morning! We are expecting an ice storm today in the PNW. So, its a home weekend for us. I am up early this morning, ( 3 am). I can't sleep because of the wind.
I had a moment yesterday when I realized how life changing this surgery is. I just feel happier and so content.

Morning!
yikes, stay bundled JB! I've been in Boston during snow storms, pretty but tricky to navigate! It's really cold here today. I am hoping to get my husband out snowshoeing with me today, but we might just go to the gym instead.
Qotd: I'll be 4 months post op tomorrow. So I'm still early days, where everything feels relatively easy. But if I had to pick something, I'd say hitting my protein targets. I was worried over the holidays that it would be tricky. But seriously, there is meat everywhere haha. I would say water is easy too, but the holidays changed my mind in that one.
Menu:
B:Greek yogurt, raspberries and bran buds
L:home cooked shawarma chicken with homemade tabouli and artichoke salad
D: going to friends for dinner. She said they are planning chicken in the oven , salad and rice. I'm sure I'll be fine, just won't have the rice.
have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning JB and Menu Family!
It's a whopping 5 degrees here, feels like -5 with the wind chill. We already have snow on the ground, but not nearly as much as you're supposed to get, Julia.
QOTD: I have religiously written down every single bite of food that has gone into my mouth since the day I got home from surgery. I write it down on my computer and also log it in to MyFitnessPal. I drink plenty of water. I have a huge water mug and fill it up several times a day. I LOVE water. I do have a hard time waiting 30 minutes after eating before drinking, but I watch the clock and try hard to do it. It seems like the minute I finish my food I'm dying of thirst! I usually take my dog(s) for a walk every day, but I must admit, since it has been so cold I haven't been walking much the past couple weeks.
Confession: My daughter's birthday was Thursday and I baked her a giant chocolate chip cookie and I have to admit, I had a piece of the cookie on her birthday and another piece yesterday. The darned cookie is sitting in the kitchen calling to me! I'll be glad when my daughter hurries up and eats it.
B: Crepe w/ peaches & cream cheese
L: Lettuce salad w/ h.b.eggs, bacon, cheese, low cal dressing
D: Taco meat, cheese, 1/2 flour tortilla
S: Light n Fit Greek Yogurt
Have a FANTASTIC day everyone and a super weekend! Stay warm and safe!

When I make baked goods they have a few days to eat it then it gets pitched. I don't want to deprive them so I do bake but I don't want to look at it and hear it call my name daily. If it's not gone in 3 days ito gets pitched. In that amount of time they've been able to enjoy, and let's face it--none of us really need that crap!
Could you freeze the cookie into portions for her? Or would you eat them out of the freezer (I sometimes do lol). I made cookies for Xmas and kept a few for us. On boxing day I bagged up what was left and tossed them in the basement freezer. The boys liked having one out of the microwave for a few seconds to make it gooey again.

Snow day! You're just going to be stuck inside, trying to keep warm.

QOTD I do good with exercise as I walk my dog 3 miles everyday even in rain, snow or cold. She loves it and it saps some energy so she doesn't tear up the house. Yesterday there was fresh snow on the ground and it was a whopping 8 degrees but we had so much fun. She hops like a rabbit in the snow and it makes me smile to see her having fun. I also do good with measuring food and tracking and vitamins but struggle with water. My stomach is messed up with this cold and I have been struggling with my liquids so that is Mt goal for today. Lily and I will do our walk about 1030 this morning. Post op 4 years 4.25 months and weight at 118--swollen a bit and didn't drink enough yesterday. Here's the food for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1/2 c crab salad 1/2 c squash D 31/2 oz ribeye 1/2 c last of squash S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. Still feel miserable with this cold--wi**** would take a hike. Off to drink some warm liquids my friends. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices that move you one step closer to your goal.
